I saw IT last night to a packed crowd, and it exceeded my most optimistic expectations. What a wonderful film: scary, funny, interesting, involving, a great story, and incredible performances. I had goosebumps of fear and happiness at the same time watching it all unfold on the big screen. Bravo!

It's especially a triumph considering what Hollywood has done to so many beloved works in the past, and how movies are being made these days with less emphasis on story and character and too much spectacle. IT manages to avoid all these pitfalls. Think of all the ways this could have gone wrong, and didn't--what an incredible job by all: writer, director, effects, and of course a very talented cast.

So yes, by all means, rush out and see this one in the theater, and take your friends. If you can afford it, go back and see it again. Enjoy the communal experience that makes theatrical films an event rather than just media to be consumed. And let's send a message to Hollywood that we will reward them for making quality films like this! I can't wait for Chapter 2, if it's even half as good as Chapter 1.
I agree with you 100%.
I wish that the Dark Tower had been done this well......

I am going tomorrow to see it with my sister, my niece and her boyfriend. I have friends and family that are watching it right now. I keep seeing people tagging themselves at the movies on Facebook. I'm happy to hear such positive feedback on here, can't wait.

Went again to a matinee. Still pretty packed, and unlike the opening night show, this one had people totally freaking out. Still going again with another of my roommates, but he works all weekend and i'm impatient lol
I went to the 1:00 showing and there was a very good crowd. I was really glad to see that.

I was trying to think of something to bring with me for warding off scared-ness. danie was states away, but we were watching at same time. A tet whisper thing.

And I just now remembered that I have two clown noses from Red Nose Day at Wallgreens. Man, I coulda been wearing one when the lights came on.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Sadly I got to wait to video. But I am going to have my sister and others come over when it comes out and well make a party out of. I see all my movies on hulu and Netflix. But I can't wait to see it. :) Sounds wonderful

I got a really cool collectible ticket, too!
:zip_it: Nah, not all of them. When I was looking at the stuff they had on the table I asked the gal who took my ticket if they were free. She said yes and to take as many as I wanted. She said they got 500 of them in for this movie. I took a few and planned on taking more when I left but there weren't many left on the table by then. So I wasn't completely hoggish....;;D
We didn't get anything but the movie was really good.
