I'm sure they do use them to some extent, but now it is much faster and more efficient to use the automatic logger/bark stripper..
Yup.

And I’m really aggravated with my Poulan chainsaw. Chain is constantly jumping off the bar, and after a couple of times the chain is bent and has to be pounded back into shape. Time to trade it in on a Husqvarna or Stihl, methinks.

Nice wood splitting trick...

I thought I was watching a transformers show. There was this really good show on television and it was these Canadian lumberjacks but they never used high-tech stuff like that, they used to climb up trees and stuff. It was on television a few years ago.

yeah, these are getting more and more prevalent in the logging industry,am sure they aren't cheap to buy,but the speed and efficiency of a logger and stripper all in one must really improve their bottom line..it is strangely fascinating to watch as they clear a whole section of trees..

I'm related (on my mother's side) to the champion Tasmanian wood cutter, David Foster. The way that guy in that video you showed made me envious because I couldn't do that. My mother's father's relatives came from Launceston and Beaconsfield, Tasmania, after they migrated from Taunton, Somerset, England.

Yup. Try to catch it every year. But the speed climbing up and down those polls is crazy.

Growing up, this is what my father made me and my brother use to cut down trees. I still have it, but haven't used it in over 40 years.
