Always Look On The Bright Side

How about some examples of looking on the bright side. Real or imagined.

My long-haired hippy boy has had a lice-scare this week. I think it was a false alarm, but maybe caught early. I spent the day doing laundry, vacuuming, then took him for a haircut, and decided to do a non-medicine treatment. I searched his head several times and saw nothing. And since he's allergic to bug bites, we figure if he had any, it would be obvious.

Anyway, rather then getting upset, he decided....he'd get his hair cut like David Tennant. Now, he's in quite a good mood.

I'm definitely an optimist, so looking on the bright side in most situations just comes naturally, I think. Plus, my husband is a pessimist, so I get a lot of practice pointing out the bright side.

Some people believe that my habit of often making a joke in serious situations is juvenile and immature.
But I agree with Allen Klein who said;
"Your attitude is like a box of crayons that colour your world. Constantly colour your picture grey, and your picture will always be bleak. Try adding some bright colours to the picture by including humour, and your picture begins to lighten up."

This has always been my point of view:

If things could be worse than they probably will be at some point. But that doesn't mean I can't turn my lowest of lows into the highest of highs with the right mindset. And when I finally get back to the good times they seem twice as good.

Not sure if that makes me an optimist or not. But that is generally how I roll.
