I have watched episodes off and on, but then I finally went on Amazon and bought the season so I can do it in order. Some of the things have so many Stephen King elements. I expected that in a way, but does King care about that I wonder? Ms. Mod, any insight? I mean, they are really dipping into his world. The kids, the hallways, the rooms, the ghosts. Everything.

I do have to say, the show is a bloody mess, in not a bad way, but in a horror way. Every other scene is someone getting murdered. This was just the first two episodes. It's insane. I know that is what it's suppose to be, but I don't think I will watch at night any longer.
I don't know if he watches the show or not as it's not one we've talked about. He knows of my aversion to any movies/tv shows that are horror-related. My guess is that if he does watch it, he might be aware of similarities to things that happen in his writing but that's inevitable as there are only so many ideas and how each artist interprets them with their own flourishes is what makes them different.

This would not be a good one for you to watch. Usually I am OK with horror, but that show cuts pretty deep! — pun intended! Thanks for answering. I was just hoping they weren't taking it too far with their interpretations.

I almost didn't click on this, because I am still one episode away from the end of the season, but I took a chance. Just wanted to let you know that I watch this one on demand and usually the next morning before the family gets up! No night time watching for me either! Enjoy the ride!

I just watched the twelfth episode and there were a couple moments I loved! :)

One moment was when Sally tells March, "Oh come on, you telling people to stop killing is like Colonel Sanders telling us to stop eating chicken." And March replies, "I'm not familiar with your military friend and his fondness for chicken." Peters delivered the line perfectly!

The other moment was when Tristan and Liz are reunited and Tristan explains why he had stayed away. "darlin, you had more living to do. I couldn't get in the way of that." I almost cried lol.

Was this the last episode in this season?

I have a question about the last episode...

I never guessed that John Lowe was the Ten Commandments Killer. I was completely surprised - didn't even get the clue from the show's intro that there actually was a Ten Commandments Killer lol. Was it mentioned in previous episodes that John was the TenCommandments Killer?

My favorite season is Murder House :)

I guess I am in the minority. When the last episode ended I thought the DVR had cut it off so I had to find it online to double check.Nope, saw the whole thing.I was severly dissapointed. I guess the best thing about this season for me was Kathy Bates. This is now in a tie with Coven for being my least favorite season.First season was my favorite!

I've liked all the seasons for one reason or another. But yes, they all have had areas that could've been improved on.

I loved the first season too, Stacy. The one thing about this is, if they do have a season that someone doesn't particularly like, it's a whole new, stand-alone season coming up. I like how it keeps recreating itself.

Whew! Finally finished! I really enjoyed this season and I loved both your spoilers above.;-D

I am pretty sure it was episode 9 or 10 where we find out about John, then in 11 he finished the set of 10. Did you miss an episode maybe?

Ah Kathy Bates, I love seeing her in American Horror Story, it brings joy into my heart. Although it saddens me they never use her for a truly SCARY role. We all know she's capable of playing it (don't make her hobble you). I didn't like her so much in Freak Show but in Hotel her character... I'm not sure if it's the parallels to my own mother and my situation but her role just brought tears from me. Lady Gaga? Why so much crap given towards her, I think her acting was great and her role as a vampire is fitting to her image. If I were to make a negative remark or two, I'd say her harem thing and just how much sex was thrown into this season felt forced. Like they wanted to shock you with sex so here's a bunch of sex, aren't you shocked? I wasn't, I didn't really care. I also thought that them just out of NOWHERE making... well I won't spoil it... making one of the characters the killer just. They just threw it at you in a single episode, and yes I guess it makes sense but they didn't give you enough buildup before slamming you over the head with it. Everything else? Loved it. Best season of AHS yet, makes up for how dreadful Coven was, and Freak Show while not bad did not flesh out the potential it had. This worked from start to finish, and my god did I love Liz too.

So I am finally getting around to watching AHS: Hotel. Having never watched any previous season of AHS I really didn't know what to expect. It's very bloody. Lots of blood. That said, it's a pretty good story (so far, I'm only on episode 6). I really like Lady Gaga in this- it's a perfect fit for her. Yes, there are times when her acting isn't the greatest, but I think she's done a darn good job (so far). Kathy Bates is breaking my heart, but she's going to get her justice (I think). I like how the storyline goes back and forth in time to tell all of the different characters stories and how they came to be at the hotel. The little blond boy is tre creepy!!! I bought the dvd set from Amazon for $9.99 when it went on sale. Best purchase all year! Matt Bomer is my new boyfie! Oh, and there's LOTS of blood! ;-D

The blood wasn't really necessary in my opinion, but, I loved the Hotel setting of the story. It lent itself very well to keeping things fresh and interesting by having people checking in. One of my favorite years.
