Do you hold out much hope for future generations? i.e. are we getting smarter or dumber overall and how can we improve?
We're always getting smarter ... I love tech, but a little less tech and a little more social integration would be helpful for the next generation.
And too, 'future city planning' meaning more solar, water and hydroelectric energy ideas for the future and the planning should include spacial considerations for streets, bike paths, city walkways, etc ... so that fossil fueled transportation and other forms of transportation can co-exist and grow together.
Don't get me started on that one it's something I really believe in.

Good nutrition (or the lack thereof)
I know that sounds kind of silly or perhaps unimportant but I see so many overweight unhappy people who eat too much fast food. On top of that it destroys your health and makes your body old before its time. (contributes to lots of preventable diseases too)
Have you even had to go to the hospital for something serious like a broken limb or other major complaint?
