I have many favorite artists in all possible fields of creativity. And I add new ones all the time so I can't really just name one.

Checkman -- have you ever wanted to laugh really hard during an arrest?

Yes. a few years ago I was taking a lady to jail for punching another gal. she was drunk and kept yelling at me that the person she hit is no good because she does DRUGS! She then told me that she never does drugs. Okay sometimes pills (never got more detailed than that) and booze, but never DRUGS! She was killing me, but wait it gets better. Other officers were out at a stabbing on the other side of the city that had just turned into a homicide. Very intense scene over there. Bunch of drunk bodybuilders with roid rage. Everybody is very serious on the radio (and who could blame them. they were outnumbered and everybody was bigger then them) and then I get on the radio and I'm laughing because of the drunken comedian in the back of my car who is screeching in the background. It was like something out of a Joseph Wambaugh novel.

Checkman, great story! When was the time you were the most afraid on your job?

Oh a couple different times. Back in 2008 ,the day before Thanksgiving, I was first to roll up on a bank robbery in progress. At 9:00 A.M. in the Walmart parking lot. People everywhere because it was the day before Thanksgiving and everybody was shopping. Two armed suspects. For a few minutes I was all by myself (they were inside the bank with customers and employees) with images of the 1997 North Hollywood Bank robbery running through my mind. But then more officers arrived and the two suspects surrendered (peacefully) after about ten minutes. Everybody was okay, but for a little while I was pretty tense.

The second time was when I was going through a dark and supposedly empty house. My little voice was screaming that there was something wrong and then I saw two feet behind a curtain. I simultaneously jumped backwards and drew my pistol. the guy was a moron and nothing happened. I yelled at him for not coming out when I announced Caldwell Police and to show himself before we entered the house. I thought it was a domestic violence call (and it might have been), but nobody was forthcoming with any information so I just left. Later we all laughed about the situation and there were jokes about my acrobatic ability, but it didn't seem funny at the time.

So interesting...thanks for your service. I could never be a cop, but could play one in a movie.

Marriage is a distance race, not a sprint. You might start out hot and fast (lol), but don't think that settling into a pace that you can keep up for a long time is losing. Be honest, but not cruel. And remember that 'love' is a verb, not a noun. It doesn't matter one crap how you FEEL sometimes, because sometimes you won't feel loving at all. The trick is to ACT lovingly, with the thought in mind that the feeling will be back. This all presupposes no actual abuse is going on, of course.

This is one of my favorite quotes from any movie (The Last Kiss--actually, there are a sh*tload of good lines in this movie--lots of relationship truths):
"Stop talking about love. Every ******* in the world says he loves somebody. It means nothing. What you feel only matters to you. It's what you do to the people you say you love, that's what matters. It's the only thing that counts."

Leif : What brought you to this message board? What do you think so far?
SpazzTheBassPlayer : How many hours a day do you spend practicing?
Audra Hilton : Do you nourish grudges?
Is it okay if I answer Audra's question - the last one?

I find that grudges will eat most anything, but to keep their fur shiny, feed them anchovies.

Neesy Why does everyone always say "Neesy's chatting" ! lol Do you chat much?
Um - no, NOT everyone - mostly just Blunt says that - and....

why? I dunno - maybe for the same reason he sometimes posts "No, you're not" or "No, you didn't" (or words to that effect).

It was in fun like "there is no chatting in morbid fetch" kinda thing. Frank caught on and then it became a motto

"stop chatting"
