Me! Last time I rode my horse was named "Timmy"

People were looking at me strange when I kept saying "Timmah!! Teemah!

Don't think the horse liked it too much, either.

Would you teach me?
I love horses, but have only ridden when I was very young.
Let gravity and the horse do all the work. Respect the animal, keep your heels out if its ribs, and you should get along just fine.
:)
One of the most important things to remember is that the horse can tell how you're feeling. If you're nervous or scared, it'll pick up on that. Just relax and dig it.
:)

There's a teeny tiny steering wheel in the saddle horn... LOL!
That's pretty easy. Horses are quite sensitive to the reigns. A very gentle tug either way tells them where to go, and a gentle tug back stops 'em. Some horses are trained to be guided by slight movements in a rider's legs. It's pretty cool.

shaitan , How did you choose your username?

Sorry, didn't see your post until today.
I was dubbed so by my friends back in college.

Word "Shaitan" means Satan in Arabic and a lot of other languages. In Central Asian republics, the name has a slightly softer connotation, meaning an imp or a demon. Any unexplained event, such as death of a horse, dry well, sandstorm and etc would be blamed on a paranormal malicious force AKA Shaitan The Imp.
I was born in USSR and back in what's left of it, central asian natives (as well most minorities) were looked upon and treated as rather uncivilized savages and were often a target of many jokes. Say as you'd emulate southern "Ya'll" or Yankee "Ayuh" when making a joke about either.

Back to the naming story. While in college, being a good student, I was mostly interested in heavy metal concerts, getting sh!tfaced and playing cards with my friends. While playing cards, I would evocate Shaitan's name as an inside joke whenever an unexpected trump card or an ace landed on the card table. Soon enough my friends just started calling me that and the name stuck, so, naturally, I adopted it as my digital moniker.

I love them both, fresh preferably. That limits when I can afford to eat them--lol. Asparagus isn't acceptable any other way; Brussels sprouts are okay frozen, but I way prefer fresh.
I agree - refuse to eat asparagus frozen, canned or in a jar. Frozen brussels sprouts are okay. (Just bought a small bundle of asparagus today for a recipe I want to make this weekend - $5!! Yikes.)
