hell no.

Everyone in my house is old enough to fend for themselves.
You are one lucky gal. I'm hungry, but I just got back from the grocery store, put everything up and I don't want to cook. But I want to eat. I'm thinking everyone can have a sliced tomato, a cheese stick, and some wheat thins. Maybe some spicy pickles. That's what I'm thinking of cooking.

Believe me. I've had a bowl of Lucky Charms for dinner because I didn't want to cook. I am still seriously considering Hello Fresh delivery service. I still have to cook, but everything is all measured out for you, and I need to eat healthier.

I'm good about eating healthy - but sometimes I'm a lazy cook - sometimes it's fish sticks and mac & cheese for the family, but I'll eat a can of tuna and some asparagus - straight out of the can. I'd like to get inspired to do a bunch of freezer meals. Soon it'll be chili, soup and roast beef weather and I can do crock pot things. That's always nice, but the Ogre thinks that kind of food is not appropriate summer food -his exact words.

HollyGolightly -- what is your next home improvement project?
Must paint the exterior of the house. We got new doors and windows in May, so that did away with painting all that trim, but the rest of the exterior must be painted. Most of the house is brick, but the eaves/soffits/gutters and about 1/3 of the top part of the back of the house and the part over the garage door (now covered in ivy again) needs a paint job.

I just thought of this brilliant idea today. If we park our cars (we both have SUVs) under where the ladders will be and put our old mattresses on top of the roof of the cars(we have 2 sets in the spare bedroom), we'd only have about 12' to fall if we had a ladder accident, and the mattresses would cushion the blow. We might recover. I'm not afraid of heights, but a fall at our age would be a disaster. I think this is a great idea. The Ogre's not so sure. What are your thoughts?

I think it's awesome. Why fall further than you have to? And if ya gotta fall, I'd rather hit a mattress than the cement. But of course, no one is falling.

Holly, have you tried the Starkist tuna in olive oil flavored with lemon and dill?
I 'm not even into lemon or dill, but it's really good straight out of the can. How do you do your asparagus?

I just ate part of a Subway chopped salad. I didn't even know they had salads, until a friend brought me one. I got spinach, lettuce, pepperoni, bacon, cheese and pepperoncini peppers. They put it all in a big bowl and kind of chop it all up, then I got ranch and oil and vinegar dressing.
It's delish--super filling though. I could eat only about 1/4 of it.

(Okay everyone, time for Subway jokes.... :) )

Yum - I haven't tried the flavored tunas. I make a really weird tuna fish: tuna in oil, rotel tomatoes, pickles, a little mayo, a little sour cream, a little garlic salt. I like to eat it just with a spoon - not on bread.

Asparagus - I like to sauté it in a little butter, a little pepper and shredded parm.

I've been behind people in line getting one of those salads -they look great. My son either has Subway or Firehouse Subs every Friday night.

Your tuna sounds great! I don't like bread or crackers much. Just the proteinish meat!

That's how I cook my asparagus. It's my favourite veggie.

This Friday, have sonny boy get you a salad. :)

This is why I :love_heart: you Neesy!
And yes. Yes I do =D

As for Maine, there is no worst part for me right now. I lived away for 20 years, moved back three years ago and I love everything about it. Even the winters. For now. I so missed the trees and water and all four seasons!

Are you a born and bred Canuck? Do you like hockey and maple syrup? And kilts? ;;D
Yup - born in Toronto. Hockey? - it's okay but I would rather go to a live game than watch it on TV. I like real pure maple syrup (not that fake stuff).

And kilts? Well - Mom was from "the old country", so yeah - it must be in my blood.:thumbs_up::thumbs_up::strawberry:

Thanks for asking - sorry I have not been on here much - busy with the hubby and trying to keep him comfortable.

He should be returning to Baker Lake on September 11th if all goes well.
