Mid-September to the early part of November is probably my favourite time of year. I like winter - I prefer being too cold to too warm - but there's something about autumn that acts like a bit of a security blanket but also speaks of new opportunities and fresh starts (much more so than New Year, for me). Of course, that could just be a piece of institutionalization held over from school days. ;)

But...crunchy leaves. I remember them. We don't seem to get them now. They used to be all over by early-mid October, but now it seems by the time you get the really brown ones it's always too wet.
Maybe it was always so and a simple trick of the memory suggests otherwise, but there you go.

All the seasons have pluses. Autumn has all the lovely colours and the smell of leaves. The only thing I don't like about autumn and winter is getting up in the dark. It's just that much harder to get out of bed when it's still dark.
Its not harder! its impossible!! i often get a little bit depressed in fall. It is beautiful yes but is also a death. A remainder that soon the trees will be bare and the days grey and the sun cold. I prefer the leafes on the trees rather than off.

I'm with you. :smile2: I get through it because there's not a choice at the moment and there are a few things about it that are nice but overall it's not a time of year I look forward to.

I like a clear cold crisp morning to cycle to work. I like extra snuggling for warmth. BUT, I'm always glad when the days start getting longer.

That's my biggest complaint, i.e. I don't like cold weather or being cold. If it's much below 75, it feels cold to me. :smile2: The shorter daylight hours are a problem for me, too, though--I'm solar powered and hate losing that much daylight.

I don't mind a bit of cold, but when it doesn't get light until 8 a.m. and is dark by 5 p.m. that gets to me after a while. Luckily I work outside so I get whatever sunlight is going. Solar powered myself.
