Hey!

Was just asking about you. Hadn't seen you in a while. Coconut oil and baking soda you say? If you have enough you could use those ingredients to bake Giant some cookies.

I do too. I totally believe chemical deoderants are a link to breast cancer. Just me folks, but I believe it.
It's the aluminum( hydroxide and zirconium) plus paragons, propylene glycol and preservitives. If you search nature health food stores there are some safe products available, but homemade is best.
It seems to me that the regular products are made to make one smell after a short time. But why isn't that surprising.
My wife also makes her own laundry soap and fabric softener. It saves a lot of money, but you don't have exposure to all the unwanted chemicals.

I read an article somewhere once which spoke to the difference between body odor types caused by normal sweating, b.o. caused by bacterial growth, and that caused by emotional stress (nervous sweating). The article helped me understand an issue I'd had during a while in high school. No matter that I showered everyday and didn't become sweaty from exertion or excessive heat, I would sweat due to nervousness. I think the nervousness was due to the alienating feelings of assumed inadequacy. The article I'd read said that nervous sweat includes a chemical or chemical compounds not present in normal, heat produced sweat, and that those chemicals yield a strong, offensive odor.

Realizing that I was likely to start stinking as soon as or before I got to school would cause me to start stinking. Everyday it was as if I was cursed. I suppose I was. No amount or brand of deodorant, at the time, made any difference at all. Wikipedia mentions that certain glands begin functioning at puberty. I know now that that's what was happening to me. It continued but to a lesser degree for a long time. Curiously, it happened much more on the right side of my body. The sweat would ruin shirts. When the cloth dried it was stiff, stained yellowishly, and stank, even after being washed.

It doesn't seem to happen anymore. I imagine I'm not the only person having been cursed in this way. This thread caused me to remember about it. I don't know if there are products available nowadays which weren't then. I hope there are for any teens who have the problem.

Please forgive me.

There are obviously some people who go long periods of time without showering. I just can't understand in this day and age (as opposed to the 1800s where getting bath water was a big issue) why someone wouldn't shower regularly (provided they have a home of course). The worst BO there is is someone that hasn't showered for a few days and is wearing massive amounts of deodorant. Why not just take a freaking shower instead of trying to cover up bad smells. There is this man that goes to the same grocery store as me and he smells horrible. He is always well dressed but he reeks of BO and heavy deodorant and must only only shower occasionally. If I see him in there, I leave and come back to the store later. ;-D
