Well, wow
This has nothing to do with SK...and it has everything to do with SK.
I mean, kudos to Dylan, I`m not exactly a fan but he is not bad either...but THE NOBEL PRIZE???
I don`t understand this.
And Uncle Steve can`t even get a Pulitzer?...
Besides...who says that Bob wrote he best lyrics?
How about Bob Seger, Springsteen, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen?
I mean...a SONGWRITER wins the Nobel?
I seriously don`t get it.
Thoughts?

He deserves it. He's not just a songwriter but a socially conscious man who provoked generations to think of the world around them. He stood up against a lot of bullcrap and remained standing. His presence is felt internationally.

Not disagreeing, I`m just in wonder they gave it to a songwriter.
In any case, it`s better that he got it than some who-knows-who-politician-a$$hole for his memoirs.
But, like Jodi Picoult tweeted.." Congrats, but does this mean I can win a Grammy? "

He wrote an odd autobiographical book a few years back. I seem to recall one thing that he admitted is that the whole 60s hippie folk movement was contrived and stupid. He never bought into that scene and basically just played the role. There is one part where he mentions being very upset because his yacht had been damaged or something along those lines. A long way removed from the concerns of most folk singers and poets.

Only if you stop haunting (taunting?) those European sites with it, too. I didn't say it was a good chance but your odds might be improved.
It just may (forcibly) happen as I’m only hanging on by a thread there. I’m currently serving a three-day ban for posting simply “Try taking off those liberal rose-colored glasses” in response to a snarky comment directed at me that started out with “Colour me skeptical...” And I’ve been threatened with a permaban if I post any more of these horribly vile offensive and abusive posts (the mods there are really tough on US Conservative thought), and apparently I’ve “been causing a lot of trouble for the mods.” It seems I get about a half-dozen abuse reports daily from some wacky Europeans who would like nothing better in life than to have me drawn and quartered, and the mods are sick and tired of defending me over the pettiness of others. :)

Maybe they didn't like your spelling.

I feel their pain but the first amendment has colored my tolerance for posting conservative (mis)thinking. I have had to talk with my dentist about my constant clenching of my jaws that has developed over the past few years, though. ;)

They’ll probably issue you this to wear at night...

That’s what the dentist gave my wife to deal with this election. :)

good thing i left my lights on today while driving. i've heard one must put on one's lights while driving if it is raining in sweden. i mean, how would one know? best to drive with lights on, always. i suspect one day a blogger will win the pulitzer, and i imagine there's all manner of country & western singers i'd nominate for the prize. ole hank. johnny. marvin pontiac now...he should be considered. everyone meet at grandma's down by the wharf. just off superior avenue. we can sit around getting blitzed while also exhibiting a heaping helping of angst.
