Hi there Ms. Mod (I assume the one that I should direct this to)
Im new here and I just had a quick question. Im planning on driving to the book signing in Kansas City on Nov 15th. Itll be about an 8 hour drive(yippee). Anyway I know you guys aren't releasing info about the signing tour until the 15th but my questions are more general. I have never been to one and have no idea what to expect. My big question is can I bring my first printing gunslinger to be signed? Regardless it will be a bucket list item to be able to meet the man. I just didn't know if you were allowed to bring books in addition to buying revival,Thank you so much for your time. If this was a stupid question I do apologize, im just excited and curious :)

I mean if anyone else knows how the signings generally work, I am definitely all ears. Im just trying to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks again guys

They can be very different from venue to venue. In general, King sits at a table and the queue forms out the door and down the street and around the block and under the bridge and into the village next door. You go up to the table with the book open to the page to be signed, King signs, you move on. With a lot of people to handle, there isn't a lot of time for chitchat.

First, not all events are going to be straight book signings but that information will be given on Monday for each venue. Only REVIVAL will be allowed for signing at the events that are book signings, so it would not be possible to get any other book or other memorabilia signed in its place. Additionally, book signings are limited to two hours so events will be ticketed and only those who have a ticket will be able to have their copy of REVIVAL signed so especially with your distance from that event, you would want to make sure you had a ticket in advance for either a book signing or stage appearance in order not to be taking the chance that you would be driving all that way for nothing.

With that being the case are there any opportunities available to get things signed? I mean for me, the gunslinger is the be all end all, so obviously being able to get it signed would mean a lot more to me than getting a new book signed. I mean i have Roland and the tower tattooed on my forearm.I know that through the mail is no longer an option, so are there any options? I mean I live in Indiana so I know im not just going to run into him on the street some Saturday night haha. I appreciate your guy's help and info.:)

...King won't personally sign anything through the Board, but a great source for signed/AUTHENTIC editions is Betts Books...they have a website worth checking out...

The best way to get an older book signed is to keep an eye out for him to appear at some type of book festival. He seems to do that about once a year or so. They typically limit it to one per person but don't care which book you get signed. For whatever reason, the King new book signings usually don't allow you to buy a copy of the new book and get another book signed if you want. Why they do that is beyond me. I doubt King cares what he is signing and the book store certainly doesn't care as long as you buy a book from them. But that is how it goes. I like the ticket idea, though.
