OMG THANK YOU SUNNY!
I actually have been watching ANTM 22 just for him! I think I'm on episode 9 now!! He's such a beautiful person inside and out!
And he graduated from college as a Math major. So beautiful and smart, and he doesn't seem full of himself. But, fame changes a person. I hope he stays sweet.

He doesn't! He is very sweet from what I've seen from the show! He's also the newest member of the ASL app, which is really cool!

In your mirror.
And by what I have read, the deaf community does not like to be labeled "hearing impaired." This is very insulting. If you must label them, deaf is what they want to be called. They are just people who happen to be deaf.

Hey, Dana Jean. I have been in the periphery when working with deaf couples with deaf infants/toddlers. All three couples refused the suggestion of cochlear implants (?) for their children. They saw no need to *fix* their child. Do you know anything about this? (Sorry. Thread hijack.)

There is a super documentary called Sound and Fury. It's on Netflix. It is really worth the watch to try and understand this complicated issue. The younger they can implant, the better chance the child has of actually hearing. My personal NOT DEAF opinion is that families are scared to implant, not only because it is surgery, but I think there is fear that the child will separate from them and the deaf community, maybe even being embarrassed of their deaf roots. Just a note, it's an old documentary so the little girl from the deaf family who finally convinced her she didn't want a cochlear implant has gone on to get one. She wants to be a lawyer and has a TED talk.
