What year is that? Looks like just the bumper cover and the apron and flap needs to be replaced but it's hard to tell. Lots of clips and rivets holding that in place. The parts/new/factory and painted alone are probably 600.00 bucks. Used or replacement half that. The quote will be 2k with the labor I bet. Maybe not where you're at.... Maybe a little lower. I've fixed a bumper cover or two. If it was me, I'd get the check and fix it my self. I'd save/make 500-1000 bucks. If you can't, just go through the process. It will be as good as new. Glad you or the other person wasn't hurt.
Slow down. It's an omen.
It's a 2007. I think just the bumper will have to be replaced. Since the other guy's insurance is paying, I'll let somebody else fix it!

Dana, luv, glad that you are alright. I just went thru this myself when some *sshat in a Cherokee backed up over the hood of my 'baby' (in a parking lot, no less!). The hood, passenger fender and bumper cover/headlight mount bracket that runs across the front of the car all had to be replaced to the tune of almost $1,700. They didn't have to replace the actual bumper cover tho- wish they would have at least repainted it! The marks were able to be buffed out of the cover and it looks fine. I imagine your damage will be close to what I had to have done. Minus the $750 for a new hood. I think it hurt my heart more than anything because this car is my 'baby' and I've taken such good care of it all these years (owned it for about 12 years).

Oh, it's definitely the other guy's fault, and I wasn't speeding at all--just leaving the parking lot.
What I meant was, seeing the damage just a little bump at 5 mph can do to my car made me realize how much damage would be done if I were to wreck going.....well, going as fast as I normally do. I would be dead, in other words.

The teacher who hit me is a super nice guy who felt terrible because he knows how much I love my car. There will be no trouble getting his insurance to pay for it all.
That's good!

I hit this young guy's car with my pickup truck once. I was dropping my son at the babysitters in the morning. He was backing out of his driveway and the snowbanks were so high you could not see over them.

Even though it turned out it was HIS fault I still felt bad - thought somehow it was MY fault.

Glad it was just a bit of damage - got my truck repainted (paid an extra 3000 as it needed it real bad).

Well, you should have heard the words coming out of my mouth when I got out of the car.
I'm sure that the other teacher was properly shocked!
Sorry you had to deal with all this mess too.

I maintained my cool when it happened to me (no cussing) but I made sure the other guy knew I was PISSED! Guess I scared him 'cause he left the scene before giving me his info. We got a plate number and all is good- my 'baby' is outside all fixed and the insurance company is going after him for repayment and the police suspended his license for 30 days plus he goes to court for a felony hit and run.

The most important part is you were not hurt. And just to point out, "If I get to take it to the body shop I've used in the past...." Okey doke speed racer.;;D
Now now...:)
I used it in the past for another car that my husband wrecked.
And I used it when someone else hit me at a gas station!
So far, I've been lucky, and never caused a wreck.

Glad everyone is okay.

When I saw the title, I thought oh oh is there a hole in the floor where the gas peddle should be. :)

I'd have people I know make recommendations on who to use to fix it, based on personal experience and not what they have heard.
I'm laughing at your little dig there!
The police officer who took the report was asking me about my radar detector on the dash.
I said, "I have that only for safety purposes, like when I accidentally go over the speed limit by 2 or 3 miles per hour."
He really thought that was funny.

I'm sorry Flakes. Didn't mean to touch a nerve. Thanks for your well-wishes. I will need them.
Not your fault at all, my partner was in an accident on Monday (everybody was fine) on the way to work, so now I am without a car. I have 3 kids still living at home and I am caregiver to my two 90+ year-old grandmothers, it's just hard yakka right now.

Oh, I didn't know! Thank goodness everyone's okay. No car does make it hard. Good vibes being sent your way.
