Can't control haters who come up with this trash, so thankfully most people (um, hopefully most!) will see something like a reported death on this interweb thingy and verify it through a few reputable & accurate channels before accepting the information and/or passing it on. But then again, with so much out there, it may be difficult for some folks to ascertain what is indeed reputable and accurate.

I use Facebook as much as I keep up with celebrity gossip, which is to say hardly ever, so this is the 1st time I have came across this and I have to say - I'm just wondering what took them so long? Just off the top of my head, 5 celebrities who have died on facebook: wee man from jackass, John cena (one of the top names in wrestling at the time), Patrick Stewart, Michael j fox, Morgan Freeman (many times). There are many more. I'm sure the celebrities themselves just brush it off but it can cause distress to their families, and fans. I remember Patrick Stewart saying when a newspaper article mentioned he was gay (which he isn't) "I don't know where they got that from but I don't mind, at least I'm not dead this time".

Anyway, glad he's still alive and writing.

When I first saw the hoax report I was unaware of a hoax circulating. I have to say that my stomach lurched in a powerfully painful and emotional way. It felt the same as when my father died, even though I only know Mr King through his fantastic works. I began to feel dead inside and I quickly did a search for any further news on more reputable sites. Thankfully the hoax was busted and I could breathe again. It really brought it home to me just how much Stephen King has become a part of my family, even though I've never met him. I dread the day when it won't be a hoax, and may it be many many many decades in the future.
