Just wanted to give SK a big shout out for making me a full-fledged, I don't dare stop, unsamaritan, keep on driving, single woman. After reading "Big Driver" and "Mile 81", any small chance of me stopping to render aid for someone stranded on the road has gone out the door. I'll just take my chances with the law when I drop the pedal to the medal and roar on by. If I'm ever considered for St. Peter's line to the Big House in the sky, I guess I'll receive numerous demerits for not being a good samaritan in stopping to render aid. But just maybe I can explain I'm a dedicated SK fan and He will have understanding and maybe a little sympathy for all those hellacious nightmares I endured for many, many years! On an unrelated note, I've lost the possibilities of dating some men once they took a good look at my SK library...all in hardback. They all ran like I was the devil's spawn. Signed, a devoted fan

Welcome!!
I saw this thread title, and heard Molly Hatchet singing 'travelin' down the road and I'm flirtin' with disaster'.....had to get it out and listen to it.
Yeah, I'm odd.....you'll grow to love it o_O
I thought of the same song....and I agree you're odd Sunny.;)

On a related note, anyone scared by books?? Well we all know what they can do.

You know, I passed a hitchhiker yesterday and felt really bad for not picking him up. The wind was blowing snow everywhere and it was in the mid-teens. The guy was most likely freezing. There was no sign of a car breakdown or something along those lines or I would have stopped. I remember a time when I wouldn't think twice about giving someone a lift. Another thing that has moved on.

I'm not picking up any hitchhiker....not no way, not no how.
My Mom picked up a guy walking along the road on her way to work. She said she had seen him a lot and it was raining, and she gave him a ride....I freaked out when she told me about it. Gave her a huge lecture, ranted and raved, etc. She laughed, but promised never to do it again

a buick 8
I was driving down the highway in my Buick 8, and I had just turned from Mile 81 onto Mrs. Todd's Shortcut, when I saw a hitchhiker. He looked really creepy, and was carrying an ax, so I stopped and gave him a lift. Turns out he had just encountered some Annie Wilkes, from whom he had retrieved the ax. He didn't elaborate... I dropped him off at the a rest area where he said he saw his Uncle Ottos's Truck. I never saw him again.

I saw you drop him off in your Buick 8. And said to myself "I wonder if that is Nate?"

I went right on by and was on the verge of alarm. When I looked in the rear view mirror, and saw Christine turning on her charm.

Welcome to the SKMB - I don't blame you for not stopping (and those guys who saw your book collections and ran - meh - you deserve better!)
