For myself I keep canned corn (whole kernel), canned green beans, crunchy peanut butter, canned tuna (lately I've been spoiling myself with albacore), canned chopped chicken, olive oil based mayo, hot mustard, canned soups (chicken noodle, cream of mushroom), pickles, and pickled jalapeños. For my dog canned pumpkin (which was suggested I add to her food, which is dry and limited due to the need to control her weight due to her being on phenobarbital), and crunchy peanut butter (which I use if the pumpkin runs out).

Oh, and forgot that I like aged Gouda cheese.

Double Stuf Oreos and Doritos of any sort are my weakness. We eat very well, but if those are in the house I can't rest until they're gone. So I can't buy them *sob*
Same here, except only original Nacho Cheese Doritos for me, thanks. I mean, I'll eat the others. I'm just not driven to.

Barf.
There happened to be a Nutella commercial on just now. I love Nutella. Have we talked about Nutella on this thread yet. "I found a happy place...."
I have purposely never eaten Nutella. I'm almost afraid to. No ... I AM afraid to. Because what if it makes me eat the planet?

Well, for whatever reason, I can count persistent hypertension (high blood pressure) as one more vulnerability of getting old. So one of the two drugs the doc has me on is something to lower my blood pressure. And avoid alcohol (I note that he didn't stay "abstain from"). And avoid salt.

Grandma is aggressive in quashing the salt demons. So she's grabbing cans and packages and peering at the salt content with narrowed gaze. Holy granola, there is a lot of salt in our processed foods, and the low-sodium sections aren't nearly as well-stocked as the rest of the store.

Anyway, as processed food goes, I like peanut butter, pad thai noodles, and kippered herring. A lunch sandwich isn't complete without spicy brown mustard and hamburger dill slices. And a CLIF bar makes for a handy substitute meal if I'm on the road or buried in an assignment.
