This movie/book introduced 'cockadoodie cheat' to my permanent vocabulary. I HATE when movies/books/TV shows 'cheat' (my inner Annie Wilkes goes crazy-lol).
Yes, one of the greatest scenes ever.And that was the scene that set up the dialogue I was referring to: The two words, and the subdued cascade of realization for the protagonist that was the linchpin of the plot. And Ed Exley/Guy Pearce carried it off. You can see the revelation suffusing him even as he represses it, out of necessity. Wonderful scene.
I just love it when there's one little thing that hinges everything. Scott Turow did it in Presumed Innocent. Just great storytelling.
