Mimosa Tree

I had one in my yard when I lived in Texas. Although a lot of people don't like the mess they make, I loved my tree. I thought it was beautiful and it smelled wonderful. I didn't care one bit about the fluff and seed pods it created and chucked all over the yard. I kind of liked it. It was a beautiful mess.

Mimosa was my mom's favorite. I have a few.

When I was a kid, I spent summers with my dad in Tennessee. I was a Detroit city kid and although I loved being with my dad, I didn't like the idea of living out in the sticks until I discovered the field of wildflowers back behind my gramma's house. I had never seen anything so beautiful, I was in utter awe. It seemed to go on forever. It was like so much magic. I spent hours in those fields just taking in all in. I fell in love with nature then, head over heels.

These are blooming all over right now. I love them; so pretty and fragrant.

Sweet Pea?
It may be Columbine. They grow beautifully here in the Great Pacific Northwest. There are more varieties, shapes and colors than you can shake a stick at. But why would anyone want to. They are too beautiful to shake a stick at. My g-nieces called them Fairy Flowers when they were little girls, and I still do.
