Game animals. I have a friend who's a hunter. He brought over some elk one time for chili. Said it would be really good. It was fine, but not exceptional or anything. He also said that game, particularly antelope (pronghorn), is best when it's brought down quickly and before it can react. If you shoot it on the run, the endorphins and adrenaline that is generated gives the meat a bitter flavor.
I was in Alaska and had some beluga once, with no little sting of conscience for accompaniment, but it was harvested legally, and someone was going to eat it. It was somewhat oily. Again, nothing special.
When I was in Korea, I often had jellyfish. I enjoyed it, and kimchi. I grant you, kimchi in its various forms is not for everyone.
