I buy my wife whatever she wants when it comes to Valentine's Day. She knows I have the imagination of an anvil so I take her shopping around Valentine's Day and let her pick out something. My only stipulation is that it has to be something SHE wants. If I give her the money and let her go herself, she'll buy something for our son or for me or buy extra groceries...lol
Your wife sounds like a real sweetheart, @ghost19 - you're a lucky man

Funny thing about spending and who in marriage tends to spend more ..... let's see.... my parents were on a limited budget way back in the day .... my mom home with me ... she didn't work .... we lived in an attic apartment (very small) .... my dad was cop who took extra assignments just to make ends meet at times... and guess what he bought and didn't tell my mother !!! A friggin' boat !! something along these lines....

He kept it at a family friend's house. Here's my mother scrimping and saving and he bought a boat!! Well Mummsy found out ... and needless to say the boat went bye-bye fast ...

Now.. my ex was always good for making large purchases that were not needed .... a foosball table he thought the kids would like for Christmas one year ... (I told him get air hockey...) but nooooooo...... he liked foosball, so that's what he bought ... guess what ... no one but him likes foosball... big surprise! so it's probably still collecting dust in the basement (I told him to donate it to the local boys/girls club... noooo someone might want to pay money for it .... ) good luck with that ....

oh ... then there was the large $$$ purchase of a huge weight machine for our boys who weren't even teenagers yet. The thing fell apart... the cables were never tight enough .... it probably saw 20 hours of total usage ... then dad took it down ... another great purchase...

then there was the trailer WE HAD TO HAVE for his RAV4 to haul trash to the dump .... more $$$$$$$$$$ ...and to have a hitch placed on the RAV4 to use the trailer ... cha ching $$ yeah .. I think that gets used once a year at best ....

I can go on and on about purchases my ex made on things "we had to have" ... yet I was the one that had to report and justify every penny spent on food, clothes, and things needed to run a home .. (can't imagine why I divorced him .... )

so I think the technology for the spending purse might be converted for mens' wallets too ...

Finances - it is one of the most stressful things for couples to handle together, especially when you have two opposites. I know from personal experience. I am glad you are in a much better relationship now :big_money:

My wife wants to do a lot of landscaping this spring. I sold the boat last fall so I'll need to get me one of those trailers soon. :)
