I'm sorry I'm just now getting around to getting back to everyone. I first and foremost want to thank each and every one of you for the well wishes. I'm a bit overwhelmed by a lot of things right now, but just the sheer number of thoughts, and well wishes I've received from various members has been very humbling. I have no adequate way of thanking you all for the love and support you've shown toward me, so I''ll simply just say, thank you all, for everything.
I'm back home, finally, after eight days in the hospital. I had some very serious bi-lateral pulmonary embolisms which caused me some serious complications over the last week, up to, and including coding in the ER last Monday night. It was surreal experience which happened right in front of my son, my wife, and my stepson as they looked on. Without going into details, I was very fortunate to have a skilled medical team who were able to pull me back from the drain and get me stabilized. A very serious pulmonary angiogram with some major clot busting procedures later, and I could breathe again. During the hospital stay I also found out I was a diabetic...had no idea, so now in less than two weeks, I've gone from thinking I was perfectly fine, to having my health go down the tubes..lol That's no joke, I had enough tubes and lines hooked up to me I looked like something out of the The Matrix. The times they are a changin' though, just ask my wife who's glad I survived so she can remind me she told me to go the hospital three days before I did every day for the rest of our lives.
The blood clot thing may be genetic according to the doc, my dad has had some bad experiences with blood clots, but nothing this severe. All in all, I just want to thank you all very much for everything. You are truly my friends and I felt the power of the SKMB all week long.
Spidey, thank you so much for the card ma'am. That was very nice to open when I got home this evening. I have no adequate words, but thank you.
Flake, thank you so much for the check ins and messages. It was very kind of you to take time out of your busy life to listen to me blather on while I was sitting in a very boring room, not able to do much while they tried to make sure I kept improving.
DJ, as always, thanks for the well wishes, the kicks in the ass, and the humor. You and Flake kept me laughing all week, no matter how badly it hurt...lol I owe you both a debt I'll most likely never be able to repay, but if the chance arises, you can damn well bet I'll ante up.
Thank you all, you are an amazing group of people. Shannon.
