Quick prayer request for my mom. She had surgery yesterday to remove two huge kidney stones and was supposed to be home today, but his been spiking very high fevers. She's apparently picked up some bacteria in her blood (Doc called is 'bacteriosis') since the surgery and they're still waiting for the cultures to grow out so they know what it is. She's very weak (even at the best of times it's very hard to get her to eat) and in a lot of pain. Good thoughts/prayers/green lights appreciated.

skimom, it's going to be ok, I'm sure. They'll determine what kind of bacteria is there and treat appropriately. Meanwhile she'll be watched over 24/7, and they'll give her pain meds cause they know she's in some pain. I know it'll be hard for you to but you could use rest, too.

Continued thoughts and prayers.

Oh no - I'm so sorry to hear this! Prayers for your mother and you! I agree with blunthead, try to get some rest while she's being taken care of at the hospital. Store up some energy for when she gets out.

Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone. She is on IV antibiotics and fluids for now. I'm back to the hospital in about an hour--hope to get there before her doc does his rounds. Mom listens to him, but almost immediately forgets what he said or remembers the parts she likes and disregards the rest (I noticed that yesterday). Today will be a trick: I need to be there with her AND LilMan is sick. My oldest daughter has to work all day today, younger daughter is in school, and The Man can't get off work--they're on mandatory OT. Sooo...oldest son is on deck. He worked until midnight last night, works again tonight, and is still asleep (but at least there is an adult at home), so I told LilMan to hang in there, wake his brother up if he really needs something, and I'll be running back and forth today.

Ah, the joys of being sandwich generation--lol.

Be safe today (and I hope no one is nursing a hangover that's too bad *stern, schoolmarm face*) :)

My mom used to do what yours does in terms of what a doc says.

We decided on Sunday evening to go out and have fun. We girls had been outside and downhill skiing the whole day and boys had driven their snowmobiles. So we drank little
alcohol on the evening and then decided to go out to a bar. Juho's friend's girlfriend didn't want to join us, she said that she stays in our hotel room and go and sleep early. So I went out with
Juho and his friend. We took a taxi to the bar, because we had drinking. We three had a super fun evening/night until 3 am when Juho and his friend started to arguing about something. I told to the
boys that I'll go out now and waiting for them to come when they are ready. I went out and there was many taxi that waited for their drunk customers. I waited a long time on those two to come out, I
even thought about to take a taxi and go back by myself to our hotel. But something told me that I shouldn't go now anywhere. So I waited. Then I suddenly saw that Juho was coming out he had his jacket on. But he never came out, because at the same time another man also wanted out and poor Juho was on the wrong place in the wrong time. This other guy pushed Juho so he fell down
the stairs which was near the front door. I am still relieved I never saw when Juho fell because what I saw after he had fallen was a shock to me. I saw that this other guy came out and at the same
time the doorman drag this guy back in and said "look what you did to this other guy". (the doorman meant Juho when he said other guy) I still stood there for a while and thought what just
happened, and then I walked back in the bar, I prayed the whole way back in that "please God say that it is not Juho who just fell down the stairs" when I came in I saw that Juho lay below the
stairs and my heart almost stopped to beat, I was thinking OMG please tell me he is alive. I yelled to this other doorman who was with Juho if he is alive, he did not answer me so I tried to get there
to see if he was alive or dead, when this other doorman grabbed me and said you can't go there, with tears in my eyes I said "he is my boyfriend and I want to know if he is alive" he said that
he's alive and conscious, but we called the emergency center and a ambulance is on the way. I cried and saw that Juho's friend also cried. I went to him and we both hugging each other, Juho's
friend asked me if he's alive I said yes, but Juho complained of lower back pain, so they called a ambulance. After a while they finally they let me go to Juho. I sat there with him and tried to talk with
Juho, this doorman was also there with us until the ambulance came, he never left Juho alone and neither did I. Juho talked but said that his lower back is sore, we said to him that help is on the
way. Juho's friend went back to the hotel (his girlfriend was there alone after all) and we waited for the ambulance. 1h later the ambulance finally came and they lifted Juho up on his feet. He
walked by himself to the ambulance (well they helped him of course a little but he walked) In the ambulance they checked him from head to toes and measured the pulse. What was a relieve to me
was that he only injured his back and that wasn't even serious. They said that Juho should take it easy if the back is still sore the next day and if is not he can go and do whatever he likes to do.
Juho called a taxi that took us back to the hotel and we never had to go the hospital. We was all relieved and happy that it ended this way.

Thankful prayers being said. Juho had a guardian angel with him and that he being drunk also saved him from worse injuries. He said afterwards that he had drunk luck we he fell and
was never worse injured. I am happy that my darling is still alive and able to walk and talk. It could have ended worse.

Sorry for a long message but it was easier for me to tell it from the begging to end. I'll let you know more about our trip later in the Cantina Thread the fun part, this was just the sad part.

Prayers being said once again it makes me still shaking when I think what could have happened. I shook a lot that night.

Saying many healing prayers for your Mother. May the Dr. figure out a course of action and she gets to healing and feeling better very soon.
