Hi guys,

Thank you so much for all the prayers! Thank you Spideyman for being my messenger!

We are home. They wanted him to spend the night 1) because they got started/finished so late (it was 11 or so before he was in recovery) and 2) because I was alone there until around 8 and did not want to leave to have his meds filled without someone being there, in case, and then pharmacy was closed, so they wanted to be able to give him pain meds.

He had 2 tears, not just the one, so he got anchored in 2 places. The bone spur and scar tissue and everything is cleaned up. The doc said his bones were good and hard, that she really had to pound the anchors, but that was good, that she thinks he will heal up nicely.

We have been home about an hour. He still has 2 nerve block medicine ball thingies attached, and he took some pain meds right before we left the hospital, he is mostly comfortable, so I am heading to the pharmacy right now. Physical therapy starts on Monday.

Thank you so much for all the thoughts and prayers. We all appreciate it so very much. Love you all!!

:biglove:
So glad to hear that it all went well. Sending hugs, calm & healing vibes, and wishes for a speedy recovery.

Hope all went well Cat.

Not sure how many people we have here from New Zealand. (FlakeNoir ?) There's been another earthquake. The time the south end of the Northern island.

NZ earthquake: North Island quake strikes with preliminary magnitude of 6.3 | Nov. 22, 2016

Hope all are fine.
Thanks for thinking of us AnnaMarie it has been crazy how many shakes we're getting, this is really quite unusual as far as quakes normally go... just in the fact that the big one seems to have set so many other areas off too.
The one you spoke about yesterday was very close to us, I'm at the point where my heart starts thumping very hard with each new one. I can't imagine how traumatising it is for the people in the south where they're getting them as often as 200 a night.

Looks like the Pacific Rim is in an active period. There was a large quake off Japan in the last 24 hours too. Will be thinking of you Flake.

"Two nerve block medicine ball thingies attached"? Why does this sound like maybe they need to be removed by a doctor? (I'm trying to picture this now)

Glad he is doing better and has such great bone density!

Yay!

Hi guys, something bad is happening right now and I don't know what to do about it. I've honestly shared about as much personal information as I feel comfortable sharing. I don't know what else to say. I am in need of positive vibes, prayers, blessings, whatever you can throw my way will hopefully help. Thank you. It is as bad as it sounds.

Oh, they will be removed by the doctor, when they are empty. They are called On Q balls, and they continuously feed the nerve block medicine, but at a lower dose than they used for the surgery. They are a little bigger than softballs, each of them, and they will shrink and shrivel up as the medicine is used. Should take about 5 or so days, they said. So then they make the determination whether to start again with new ones or just continue with the pain pills alone, if his pain is to the point it will be manageable with just the pills, they will remove the tubes.

He is hooked up to these balls, wrapped up with straps on the sling, straps for the ice pump pad, so getting him up is a major undertaking, but he is doing well at getting up and walking around.

He finally slept last night, a few hours. Hopefully he can get a little more sleep once the kiddos are off to school.
