Dad made the decision to have his oxygen supply turned off at lunchtime today. He was sedated and went off to sleep. He passed away peacefully about an hour ago.

I'm very sorry for your loss but you're right that sometimes it's better for the one we're losing to be able to go out on their own terms and not suffer more. Thoughts and prayers on their way.

I'm not what you'd call Holy at the best of times but my Dad, who turned me on to Mr. King in the first place and who is another Constant Reader, is currently laid up in a hospital bed in Holland and in a bad way due to his suffering from COPD.
