Uh-huh! So I'm not the only hot head here -- a pleasure to have company! :belial:
BTW, how do I tag a person in a message? I can't seem to find the answer :very_confused:
If you mean "like" something someone said, over to the right of each post is the word like and you click that.

If you mean you want to make sure someone sees your post, do the @ sign and their screen name. So I would do Serhiy Krykun . Then, up above in your ALERT area, if you drop down the box, depending on how you have your alerts set up, you should see that I tagged you. If you don't see that, then go to your name up to the right, hover your cursor over it and a drop down menu will show. There is a place called "Alert Preferences." From there, you can set what alerts you want to see. I hope this helps.

Love this - it's so different from the American cover. Is this Cujo, then? I have it but haven't read it. Saw the movie way back in the 80s. Gerald's Game wasn't one of my favorites, and it was certainly a bit racy for a 12 year old. Have you read any of the Dark Tower books? There's lots of artistic inspiration in them. I see Tower stuff in everything now and think "That's not a coincidence, that's Ka."
Somehow I missed your comment, HollyGolightly :(
No, that's the point! The cover with the dog is 'Gerald's Game' -- that's why I picked up the book, I thought it was a horror novel with werewolves. What a cheat!
But Russian covers for King's books are, for the most part, disastrous -- usually the art has nothing to do with the book. For example, this is how 'Gunslinger looks':

-- it's the art from a video game called 'Blood Omen'. Awesome game, btw.
Recently it got better a bit. At least, they started ordering art exclusively for the book, it's not something stolen. But still it's questionable. Take a look, this is 'Dr. Sleep':

Doesn't it remind you of something? I consider it a rip-off.

Yes, I've read the series through, but I'll be honest -- I liked only the first three books and hated the ending :( But the beginning, especially 'Drawing of Three', was amazing.

That is certainly a strange cover for The Gunslinger. I loved Drawing of the Three - and I enjoyed Wolves of the Calla. I found Song of Susannah hard to get through, and I trudged along reluctantly through Book 7 - but I loved it once I gave it a chance. I liked the ending -
but the thought that nothing bad really happens, that you get a second chance - that he had the Horn of Eld this go 'round - it filled me with hope.
But it was certainly controversial for many King fans.

HollyGolightly, I didn't like that King didn't keep the story sharp and straight and began telling bonus stories from the past. It'd be great if he finished the main series first and then he could do whatever he wanted :) And yes, the ending is very controversial.
I didn't like that it kind of nulled the whole series, like it never happened. Perhaps, King was at a loss what to do with it, who knows... maybe, it's because of that he tried to write new Dark Tower books without getting to the end, just to have more time to think, who knows?
But, as I said, the first 3 books are excellent.

And I do have an image of Roland sitting in my head. He's much more weathered and stern, than on the pictures of Whelan -- pale, sinewy, almost like a living dead.

Here's a painting based on my sketch -- it was made by my talented friend Ksenia Trubacheva for the cover of a Russian edition of 'Deadman's Road' by Joe R. Lansdale. This guy here is a bit too decomposed for Roland, but you'll get the idea:

Neesy, is that you on the photo? If so, why did you cut half of your head off? Afraid of stalkers? :m_vamp:
What photo? Oh you mean the one with the two Mounties? No - that is just a picture from the Internet. You may be able to see my photo over in the Selfies thread (It is me with my birthday cake on my 55th birthday)! 55 - yikes! I am now officially a senior citizen (at least at Shopper's Drug Mart anyway) - I get 20% off on Senior's Day!

Ah, the cryptic Americans! I've leafed through the thread to get to know everybody a little better, but alas! I missed your selfie, Neesy ;;D Although the red-haired photo is really something -- I wish it was real! It's no joke :uh-uh: I love strange people who are proud to be different :)
