I'm just going to go ahead and assume that calling something a "guilty pleasure" means you're already "reluctant to admit it" ... and further presume that "reluctant" is a relative term here, as this is a tightly controlled community ... and ... ummm ... errrr ... stop prefacing ...

1.) The only song that simply refuses to let me refrain from singing along is Billy Ocean's (I Want To Be Your) Lover.

Make of that what you will.
2.) The Mosquito Coast (think about it).
3.) Convenience, by Patience Maclary (don't even bother)
4.) I'll just say it: Two-and-a-Half Men is funny.

Many people don't seem to know the distinction between a pleasure and a guilty pleasure (and even with the qualifier still don't get it) and simply state their favorite thing in the category. That was why I deliberately used red highlighter with the redundancy.

What guilty pleasures (although reluctant to admit) would you answer to the following topics:

1.) Song you have to sing along to in the car.
2.) Movie
3.) Book
4.) Tv show

1. I HAVE to sing along to Proud Mary by CCR (also Tina Turner's version). I'm reluctant to admit how loudly I sing it lol.

2. Breakfast Club.

3. I've read the Gor books but I'm not sure I should admit that lol so I'm going to say Nancy Drew mysteries.

4. Squidbillies. (If you havn't seen this show, don't )

This response is so perfect, I'm hesitant to even point it out ... and yet ...

It's a different reference ... but if you need the way Tina sings Proud Mary (nice & rough), then you might remember Arlo Guthrie talking about how, if you want to end war and stuff, you gotta sing LOUD !!!

When I was an actual kid (instead of a grown-up, pretending to be a kid), we used to joke roughly thus:

"Who is Roland, and why is he on the river?"

That joke is even funnier to me now ... and here ...

Funny (or poignant) is where you find it.

I think maybe that's why some folks get the wrong idea about what "guilty" pleasure is.

Or again ...

... maybe that's just me.

I dunno. I really don't feel guilty about anything I dig, but I guess if I had to feel ashamed of certain things, well...here's my list (off top of my noggin):

Song: anything by Abba.

Movie: anything starring Elvis.

Book: anything by Harold Robbins

TV show: Starsky and Hutch

And lots of other junk.

Yes, I understood it as well Doc Creed and they are my guilty pleasures. The great thing about this
MB is you can answer questions like this and no one ridicules or judges. Even if the odd time
something does comment, it is all in GOOD fun.

Pucker - where ya been? Good to see you!
muskrat - yes, DISCO!!!

1.) Bee Gees
2.) Joe Dirt - I grew up in a town like that, with people like that. It was just like that.
3.) V.C. Andrews - all those early ones - I think I went through the Heaven series.
4.) Arthur - I still record Arthur. I catch my 13 year old watching too.

@ All Y'all: please remember my troubling "liking things". I feel so bad when I can't like things - it's not you, or me even, it's my computer. Apparently I drag my thumb pad and when I try to like things my entire screen does weird stuff - bigger, too tiny, takes me forever to get back to where I was. And by then I've forgotten what I wanted to like or say. I have lazy hands. I must rest the thumb pads.

I was speaking generally, didn't mean to insult anyone's intelligence, lol. I've enjoyed reading all the answers. :)
