What is it about?
A young man has been accused of the brutal rape and murder of his girlfriend. He's sure he didn't do it, but pretty much everyone else thinks he did. One morning he wakes up with horns on his head, and people start telling him their darkest secrets. He decides to use his new powers to find out who killed his girlfriend.

We watched it tonight and it was a truly wonderful, faithful adaptation of the book. It got all the high points and successfully skirted the main character's inner monologue (there was a lot of that in the book--very difficult to film) while not losing the sense of who Ig was. Its structure is more linear than the book, which made it easier to follow. We rented it on VUDU, and now I wish we'd just bought it--it's definitely one we'll want to watch over and over. I went in not knowing David Morse was one of the actors--he's a favorite for his understated performances, and this one is no exception. Dan Radcliffe is very good, as well, even with using an American accent. There were a few odd moments to the ear, but it wasn't so distracting that it took away from the movie. Very, very well done film!

The book is in my "Donate Box" (but not my fireplace), as I didn't like it muchly.

I did manage to finish it, though, so that means something.

If it's free, it's for me, so I'll give the movie a shot if that scenario happens.

I like a lot of Joe's stuff...some of it more than Daddy's.
