They can be really stupid....and they are allowed to breed.

I remember when I was in high school, a professor of cultural studies at the university wanted the high school students to answer a survey.
It was set up to make the local people look like poor, uneducated backwoods hillbillies.... The questions were all like
How many times per week do you eat beans and/or potatoes?
What is the highest level of education your father completed? (college degree was not an option....3rd grade was)
How many siblings do you have?
Do you have running water at home?
Do you use mountain slang as your language?
Do you live in a trailer?

.....you get the idea.

Our teachers threw the survey in the trash, and the professor was called to answer to the school board. His contract with the university was not
renewed.

Behind you
I could not believe that when I someone told me about that yesterday. :Oo: I thought it was joke.(!!)
It is not just that it is a stereotype - it is negative and the subject of racist jokes.

But I have ham and cabbage on St. Paddy's day... I don't think that there would be an uproar if it was offered in any restaurant or school...

In your mirror.
At one of the schools where I taught, we did ethnic/culture studies. It included learning about different cultures, their food and dress. If a student was of the culture we were studying, the family often provide foods/ treats for the class. In this way we did not stereotype. Fried chicken was a must on some menus.

Hi Ms. Spidey!

My son attended a high school charter school and they were also studying ethnic/culture. He asked if I would make some food representing (?) Mexican foods.

I cooked up a big batch of beans, rice, tortillas and salsa (hot sauce). Yay!

The students and teacher(s) enjoyed it very much. It was NOT stereotype...just learning what other peoples eat.

Cool, huh?

Peace.
