Somewhere over the rainbow
:)

'though it's late arriving to New England, summer's here.
I just played a round of golf - my first time out this year.*
Now I'm heading to the beach for G&Ts, with lime.
I might have a lobster roll... The taste of summer-time.

Other states might think that it's been summer for a while.
Although they're aware that winters here can be a trial,
That our springs are not the time for turning off the heater,
They don't know that those things make our summers that much sweeter.

*Please don't ask about the game of golf that I just played...
I don't want to talk about the bogies that I made. :nightmare:

rain today...looks like it will be an all-day affair. the grass is amazingly green.
that apple tree was almost completely covered with snow...got my garden started, not all in yet...still have some yellow and green beans to plant, yellow squash, lettuce, spinach, more onions, more cucumbers, more tomatoes...in the apple tree you might be able to see a robin who has a nest on the deck beam just below where I stood to take the picture. yesterday, on the steps going down to the back yard (out of pic to right) I discovered what might have been...owl crap...or something. thought a cat had gotten the baby robins...that I have not seen nor heard as yet...but the robin is still tending the nest. an owl might have perched on the edge of the roof and did what they do...in fact, the wife this morning calls downstairs, what is that, a dog...and she makes this owl noise. went outside to listen...thought maybe an owl or morning doves. 59F this morning, 94% humidity, fog, east wind at 9 mph. people are crazy.
I liked the picture of the Oobleck back yard with the robin in the tree! :D:encouragement:

You're in the right place today because it's 19C (66F) grey and wet here in the UK.
The weather got exciting up our end of the country this morning - 1 flash of lightning and 1 rumble of thunder. Woo.

Considering we're meant to be obsessed with it, the weather is pretty boring in England, at least were I live it is - heavy snow is rare, heat waves are rare, hardly ever get a good thunder storm, and the Mersey never floods (thank god, flooding is one extreme I don't want to experience).

It's downright chilly here at the moment - about 15 Celsius and it is going down to 8 overnight - brrr!
(for the Americans - 59 F right now, going down to 46 F this evening).

It's a good night to have Chicken a la King in the slow cooker, to be served on top of hot rice - yummy

I put red, yellow and orange peppers in mine (not corn)

I also used lots of mushrooms and a white onion :grinning:

15 C, I'd have thought for someone from Manitoba that would be too hot. 21C (70F) today here, strong bright sun, slight breeze - just right for me (I don't even get affected by the high-very high pollen count). I don't like it when it starts creeping over 25C (77F).

It's funny, I posted on saturday complaining how our weather is boring, with a lack of thunder storms - on tuesday, what did we get? An hour of heavy rain and thunder and lightning, and not your typical English 2 or 3 rumbles, at one point it was around 3 or 4 rumbles/flashes per minute. It was cool.

Florida's rainy season in full swing. Had a nasty one last evening. Blew out a light bulb! Need to ck out some outlets behind heavy furniture today. Still hitting that 90F/32C mark. T storms will continue through the summer. Might be time for that surge protector on the outside main power pole!

Hope everything is okay, Spidey.

We have a taste of summer here with temps. in the 80's by afternoon. Yes and finally!! Slight chance of a thunder boomer, but I love the warmer weather. Didn't think it would ever come.
Even though we've had a couple days that were just shy of 90 degrees, it still doesn't feel like summer is nearly here for me. My gardening bug still hasn't bit which isn't helping either. By the time it cleared up here this weekend, it was Sunday afternoon but they're predicting this coming weekend will be better. We'll see. :glare:
