:biggrin-new:

The thought of eating a nice juicy strawberry only to have the experience sullied with the thought of a wasp beating you to it and possibly leaving behind little waspy saliva or something worse, will have me washing my berries very carefully this spring.
They make a pretty good-sized hole in them which is what was the clue to finding out what the culprit was. Had thought at first it might be slugs but there was no slug trail evidence so after a bit of googling, found out that wasps will do that and then caught the little varmints red-footed one day. The garden cloth did the trick but does make it a little annoying come time to check on them for when they're ready to pick.

Slugs are a real treat. You ever use the beer trick with them to drown them? I kinda feel bad for killing them, but at least with the beer they died happy.

I have but my partner can't see wasting beer even for a slug so tried that diatomaceous earth instead. He also said you could use just plain yeast and water instead of the beer. :smile2:

Thought I was losing my mind, again, yesterday afternoon. Kept seeing these little sparkly things falling outside the window by the sink where I was doing dishes. It was actually drops of water from melting snow and ice falling off the roof. Now, I didn't run right upstairs and get my bikini on or anything, I'm not that crazy, but my tears of joy rivaled the drips coming off the roof.

(We will get to see the bikini a bit later though, right?)
