Low 90's today in East Texas.. very nice. Much better than triple digits for the past several weeks.
the other day up in the Heights was sitting on the front porch taking a break...rain falling, so slowly it looked like snow. late August we get that chill in the air, mornings. sunrise is noticeably later, too. mid-summer seems like the sky lightens early as five aye-em, but here it is five now and it's still dark-thirty. yesterday was chill enough to leave the house with a flannel shirt...that didn't last long. it did get as high as 80-something. and i guess i might get to work out on the big lake again, same area as before, that old Pullman car? did i post a pic of that? took some. i dunno what's happening, got an e-mail from this guy from Virginia, never met him but I've done all manner of work for him. I guess the guy (Herman cartoon character) who had the Pullman doesn't have it anymore? email made it sound worse than it probably is...something about removing siding, windows. at some point in the life of the Pullman, glass, must be close to a half-inch thick, was placed/sealed over the window openings. find out next week. it'd be the first Pullman I worked on! For some reason...Pullman doesn't seem like the right word. Old train car is what it is...set on the bluff overlooking the big lake. Nice place.

Here it is chilly (around 14 Celsius or about 57F)
Woke up at 5:30 a.m. Hubby had left the window wide open and the wind was blowing.
Now it's around 2:45 p.m. and I feel like taking a nap!
Summer reign continues. Another day with 25 C and sunny. August has been great!!!! But now it seems as fall is on its way. Looks like rain on tuesday with temps a bit lower. Last really good day looks to be tomorrow.
Just felt the wind through an open window. Cue Seals & Crofts.
This is not looking too good but there are still several days for things to change. Follow the center of the cone to Florida and that is where I live.

Let us hope the wind shire is strong and that it takes a hard turn to the Atlantic. As the saying goes- we aren't safe till it dissipates. Be safe.

unseasonably cool, as the song & dance has it, 50s during the day for a high. and we've had a bit of a monsoon going on. neighbors are having their roof done, started two weeks ago? or was it three? they're just now getting to a point where the end is in sight. i've had inside work so the weather hasn't affected my work. and the color is coming, ferns alongside the road have turned brown. don't know whether that's a combination of the lack of rain earlier, or what. turned the thermostat up a notch yesterday and have taken to wearing a flannel shirt...been tee-shirt weather for a time now.
Our weather is strange also. Very cool during the night, almost fall weather, the hot during the day. Going to be 89 today, and 58 tonight.
Cold front never made it past northern FL. Heat continues and we stand watch on Erika. You all be safe!

Here in my neck of the woods in Maine it is only 69 degrees(yes!) but %100 humidity! blech!
