I've been looking at pictures of me as a little boy of five when I used to visit 'Uncle Steve', he was a tall man, with glasses. I used to say, 'Uncle Steve, can you read a book to me, please?' I used to sit on his lap and he used to read but I did a bad thing and peed in my pants and he got angry and hit me on the head with the book. My mother came over and kneed him in the groin. That was back in 1969.

That makes me feel all warm and happy.

Now I am not trying to rile anyone up or anything bad like that but I have to say that someone has a very strange sense of "humour"/humor - thought I would try both the American and the British spelling

:dunno::hmm:

I was feeling a bit down yesterday but then we went to a dancing and drumming circle with Josh's new young GF Samantha

Those people (sheesh - did that sound racist? :a11: - um - the First Nations/Aboriginal people I am meeting are making me so happy - I never really hung around with any before.

I like their culture and way of thinking and that makes me happy.

(Plus it gets me out of the house and meeting new friends) :cheerful:

I would love to meet, and talk with Native Americans. I am fascinated by them, and their history.
I see that by your various signatures that usually have a Native theme.

Never thought I'd be hanging out with them, although I've always admired them. One of the elders got me up dancing on Wednesday night and on Thursday I joined a group who were drumming.

One gentleman said he was Dakota but most are Cree in this area.

Wow - I think I may need to sign off - I'm really tired tonight!

:indecisiveness:

I am happy because I just got this really great old bookcase for my SK collection! I think it may have been an old doorway from India or the middle east somewhere which someone reclaimed and built the case around it...any thoughts from anyone on age of the carvings would be appreciated. It's heavy there's no doubt in that, it took four of us to get it in the house. Anyway, sometimes things just come along and speak to you, as did this with myself...I had a perfectly fine oak bookcase but saw this and felt like I just had to have it!
