I am happy because yesterday I emailed a company about a merchandise rebate check we never received for the new water heater we bought last August. I was afraid someone else got a hold of it and used it.

But it must have just gotten lost because they put a stop payment on the original one and issued a new one to us. :applause: It is worth $60 and I was planning on using it towards paint for this kid bedroom swap that we keep talking about doing. ;-D

So this spring I will get paint bought...one step closer. Maybe actually having the paint will spur us along. ;) :D

I am happy because Grandma is home. You may not understand what this means. I was gone for three weeks on overseas assignments, was home for a few days, and then she flew out. I know, First World problems, but it was real to us. In a month and a half or so, we had about four days together.

I'm gone so much that it's rare to have the shoe on the other foot. But Son and DIL needed home and health care, and Grandma is both nurturing and trained, so she flew out there to take care of Granddaughter, nurse DIL to health, and keep their home situation neat, orderly, and maintained. And she did a wonderful job.

Me, I played Working Bachelor and kept the place going in her absence, and I'm proud to say she was pleased with how neat and orderly the place was when she got back. I also taught the New Lovable Dog to catch the flying disc.

Time to call it a night now, turn the lights out, and go spoon. That's not code. As far as you know.

Thankful grandma is home, safe. Thankful other family is on the mend. Now, relax, stay home , if you can, and just be happy--together.

A first class sergeant in the American army wants to be my friend on FB. I don't know why.
My sister's dad was in the US Army too. He met my mother in Germany, but he left.
Then Mom moved to Canada and married my dad. My mom's sister married a guy in the US army and moved to Georgia.

So have you been up to Canada much since your Mom moved to Canada and married your Dad?

I was born and raised in Canada. It's just my eldest sister who was born overseas. There were 4 of us kids.
But if I found an American husband, there would be nothing keeping me here. LOL
I have trouble with the quote function sometimes. Can't get it to work.

Then after my father's death, my mother remarried. After my stepfather passed, Mom dated and traveled around the world with one of the neighbors. I've thought about writing a book about my mother's life, but she would hate me for airing her dirty laundry so publicly.

And then there's my sister who was married 4 times. Her life is worse than a soap opera. Even Danielle Steel could never invent a story like that one.
