Hello all,

What a weird, circuitous trip this has been! I have never read a Stephen King book. I ended up on one of this site's forum threads after searching Google for grammar forums. I didn't even realize that this was the author's site; just thought that it was some language guy named Stephen.

I was so struck with the fun, informative interchange in the grammar section that I started cruising this site. I must say that I am very impressed with the level of polite, fun, participatory interchange that I have beheld!

All of this has convinced me that it is time, now, to buy a Stephen King novel and dive in. I have a feeling, due to the general quality of what I am seeing in the message boards, that he must be a phenomenal author.

It's exciting, and has been such an unexpected treat for today -- and likely for well into the future!

Hello Joana. Welcome to the board. I also found this site to be civil, even in the face of controversial subjects. But you must remember that we are all human and, from time to time, it gets negatively exciting. There are a lot of well informed folks on this site and some real corkers as well. Excellent wit abounds! If I were to pick a book to introduce myself to Mr. Kings' works I would choose The Stand (but already I have other choices in mind). All the best, mal.
