Oh y'all are good at this! So many I hadn't heard of. And I forgot: wash the car, hang the sheets out, google a saint!! How'd I forget? Lack of rain, that's how. My poor dried up brain needs some negative ions. Did anyone know the movie?
Big Fish

Here's a really obscure one that I remember from long car rides with my dad. He loved music from his childhood - which was 40s-50s.

But I won't add that to my list - it's a "don't rain" song.

I want to see you tap dance Sisterwife! Dana Jean I can do the soft shoe but I haven't had a pair of tap shoes in 30 years.

I think the Phil Collins song might be my favorite BUT there are 3 Led Zeppelin songs that are pretty awesome - if you count When the Levee Breaks.

I remember my mom facing one of the saints (little statue) looking out the window - so it would not rain on my sister's wedding day. I forget which one. Had to have been a popular one, unless she got it for the occasion.

It didn't rain.

It's not like she had a statue collection.. I only remember playing with little Blessed Mary. I got in trouble. Mary was up to no good.

Maybe you have one peeking out a window. Better check.

You're a naughty nottie!

Do you remember her favorite saint? Maybe St. Anthony? Did it rain on your sister's wedding day or did it work? It did rain on my wedding day. My father in law was trying to have them close the drapes at the reception so we wouldn't have to look at the rain. And I was going around behind them making them open them back up so I could see the rain. Best wedding gift ever for me! Big storm that day.

Looked it up, guess it was the Virgin Mary after all. My Mary was not this big.
That would have been great!

My mom liked St. Francis.

Oh my gosh - that's lovely! I have a Blessed Mother statue in my front yard and a small one on my nightstand. I want one like in that picture now. Just gorgeous!

Your mom would be most pleased with our new Pope then!

We had fine, large statues at the church/school I went to. Used to just stare at them and the flowing clothes. St. Francis had sheep at his feet and holding a bird. Brown robe with a rope tie, I can still see it. Mary was lovely, blue and white robes.

a snow dance song but worth a shot. substitute the word rain for snow and there you go.

there was this once, in iowa, working in coralville hadn't rained in forever. scott, a co-worker, said he knew an old indian trick, draw a turtle on the ground, a simple circle with four smaller circles to indicate legs and here's the critical part, the head, also a circle, needed to be facing in the direction of the nearest clouds...little tail on the opposite end. then...you draw a star on its back. so...that's what he did. five minutes later it busted loose, poured like we should build an ark. we picked up tools, ran for our vehicles, and a big chunk of...what turned out to be plywood blew past...thought it was cardboard. took out a window in a finished duplex next door to where we were working. 50s here, november? we have had no snow as yet and i don't believe any is in the forecast. play the song with caution. like the turtle on the ground sometimes you get what you want and plenty of. :) have a super weekend.

Long as I remember the rain been comin' down
Clouds of mystery pourin' confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages tryin' to find the sun.
And I wonder still I wonder who'll stop the rain.

I went down Virginia seekin' shelter from the storm
Caught up in the fable I watched the tower grow
Five year plans and new deals wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder still I wonder who'll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playin', how we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together tryin' to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin', fallin' on my ears
And I wonder, still I wonder who'll stop the rain.
