I am so glad you put yourself out there. Great photos.I had a lovely time at the Stanley tour. The group found out that my talk of being socially awkward is well-founded. Great people. I just struggle to interact the first (and second)(and third)(and... you get the idea) time I meet people.
After the tour, I had a very nice time, buying a beer for Kurben at the Stanley (I owed him - he vetted the archaeology of one of my stories) and his sister-in-law, whom, as it turns out, had seen me at an event earlier this year.

The ballroom inside the Stanley (minus the soda pop bottle on the rail that I Photoshopped out.) This was one of our first stops on the tour and the start of many interesting stories that our tour guide, Mary, related.

One pf the views from the front of the Stanley, looking over the shrubbery maze-ish garden out front. Between the hotel and mountains in the background. Estes Park lies in between.

The lights inside the ballroom. I thought they were interesting. This was the last shot I took before the camera battery died.

Sorry I couldn't make it to Denver for the following night! And even though I pretty much stuck to my asocial self, I had a great time hanging with you guys!

...glad you brought that up Marsha....with your retirement pending, we voted unanimously at the Kon to come back to Bangor in 2018!....this will give those of us that were there at the beginning to again see the beauty that is Maine and a chance for folks who weren't able to make it in 2013 to see the wonderland of all things King.....I plan on it being "Maine for Marsha in 2018"!....now, in the interest of fairness-because this always seems to become an issue, if others wish to plan an event elsewhere-then please lay the thoughts out here.....but for me, Gan willing-Imma gonna smooch you again before you head west.....Thanks so much for sharing the pics! In that case, I guess I'm going to have to retire in 2018. If Steve talks me into staying longer, will you still come to Maine?
