Death Wish (2018) staring Bruce Willis.

The remake was good but pales to the 1974 original with Charles Bronson. The 1974 version is a classic... the 2018 version never will be.

I've been meaning to watch that re-make.

I agree, the original was a product of it's time but timeless enough to be a classic. Sometimes all you need walking home late at night is a sock full of quarters.....

The theme of my 9th birthday was Pac-Man. This way back in a magical time known as then1980's......
I don't remember when I stopped having themed birthday parties, probably 9 was my last one but I can't remember what it was. The closest to it after that was when my mom made cakes that looked like the Minecraft cake and a Lego Brick for my 10th and 11th birthday or so, thanks mom.

I recall my 2nd birthday was Dora themed, my 5th birthday was Spiderman themed, and my 6th was lego batman themed. I might've mentioned before that a kid broke his arm(s?) at my 6th one, but if I didn't, you know now.

All the kids I invited tried to sit on the plastic slide of the old diy playhouse and swings we had in our yard, and one kid I was kinda friends with fell off the side of it due to everyone pushing and cramming on the small space, and he tried to block the fall with his hands. Amazingly his parents didn't try to sue mine or something. I haven't spoken to him since 5th grade.

Watched John Carpenter's The Thing last night. Hadn't seen it in years. What a great movie! Cast is excellent. One can never get tired of Kurt Russell anyway. Also watched Men In Black 3. Needed something funny and this was perfect. Much better than MIB 2.
Will Smith has a weird career, he got his start with no experience because someone made a sitcom about his rapper persona

He had a formula for becoming a star. Special effects, creatures and a love story.

Smith, "I said to [manager James Lassiter], 'I want to be the biggest movie star in the world.' And he said, 'Okay. Well, let’s figure out what that means.' And he went and got the top 10 movies of all time, the list of the top 10 movies of all time at the box office — top 10 box office successes — and we also looked at them, adjusted for inflation and views versus dollar value. Also, we looked at all the different variations. What we found is at the center, there were always special effects...there was always creatures, there was always a love story. So we started looking for movies that had special effects, creatures, and a love story."

I'd say it worked.

Will Smith’s entire IMDb bio is what I put as my profile status for the school website we use for assignments and communicating

Tammy starring Melissa McCarthy with Susan Sarandon. I thought this was a somewhat mean movie. I liked Identity Thief much better. There really isn't too much of those happy moments in Tammy, even though it's supposed to be a comedy.
Miss Stevens starring Lily Rabe and Timothee Chalamet. This is a sweet, small movie with heart and some really great scenes. It's the story of a young high school teacher who chaperones three acting class students on a trip out of state so that the students can audition in front of judges. Timothee gives an incredible performance here. His audition is mind blowing! Highly recommend this one if you can find it.

Rewatched It. Chapter 2. I still like the first chapter better, but this one is good, too. For me there was a lack of Pennywise, I wanted to see him more, Bill Scarsgard is just awesome! And I liked Mr.King's cameo, I guess it's something I could watch again and again :D

I found Yesterday and loved it.

That really was a lovely movie - while looking at some clips online I found this one:

I find that Himesh Patel has a voice quite similar to Paul's :encouragement:

Wish I had seen this one (Yesterday) in the movie theatre when it first came out

Saw the film “Knives Out!” Monday night by myself in a rinky-dink mall theater. I hadn’t payed attention to any of the promotional material so I didn’t know what to expect. Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collete, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, and the kid who played young Bill in IT were all in it, so it has a good cast. I was surprised by how good it was, it started out kinda iffy but picked up quick.

The lead girl did an amazing job, I had no idea who she was but apparently she was in that mediocre Blade Runner sequel. The one big quip I had with the movie is that the one cop character that kept making pop culture references was really annoying.

There is a fair bit of modern political talk in the movie which usually turns me off but I didn’t really mind it as much in this one as it did put some interesting conflict to the story.

Definitely a film that is better going in knowing as little about the plot as possible, the mystery is really intriguing and the plot never slows down, and how every little thing wraps up in the end is super satisfying. It’s both very self-aware and funny but still manages to take itself seriously.

I highly recommend this one and I’m giving it an 8/10.

I watched it recently and I loved it! There's going to be a second movie focusing on Benoit Blanc -- I loved Daniel Craig's accent (CSI KFC) . I really loved all the charters in this movie. Ana de Armas was awesome. Very versatile! Toni Collette made me think of a Kardashian!
