Peeper - starring Michael Caine and Natalie Wood

I adore Michael Caine. My all time favorite actor. Whether he's in a piece of crap or a blockbuster, he gives his performance 100%. Unfortunately, this was terrible.

And I guess the director, Peter Hymas was considered "cold as ice" when it came to the failure. Nobody wanted to work with him. But, fortunately, he went on to make Capricorn One, which is a very good film.
But did he blink?

I watched Deepwater Horizon. Based on true events. Starring Kurt Russell and Mark Wahlberg. Very good movie. Kept me on the edge of my seat even though I knew the story from the news.

A Rainy Day In New York starring Timothee Chalamet and Elle Fanning. I spent a lot of money on this DVD because it's not available in the US because of the molestation charges against its director Woody Allen. It was a good movie. I'm not a big fan of Allen's movies (only really like his old ones like Sleeper) but I enjoyed this one. It has some charming moments and doesn't suffer from the usual Allen-esque drivel of the misunderstood man.

This is what I think. My 5 and half cents. inflation.

I said this about Polanski movies. I still watch polanski movies. I'll still watch woody allen movies. These directors are working with a team of creative people making these movies. He did not do this alone. He was surrounded by a lot of creative people, so why should they be punished. I will continue to watch and applaud contributors to these movies and their creativity. I don't have to like the directors, but I can appreciate the hardwork of the cast and crew.

Allen's movie (as far as I know) never even played in US theaters upon release. He apparently bought the distribution rights for ARDINY and is trying to find a distributor for it here. I spent money on my DVD because I love Timothee Chalamet as an actor and wanted to see this performance badly. We don't know what's going to happen tomorrow or next week or next month with this virus so I figured I might as well go ahead and get it. For me it was money well spent. It was a used copy so none of my money went to any of the folks involved in the making of this film but someone at some point did buy it when it was new so at least their money went to those involved.

We can champion the good people while condemning the bad. Too many hardworking people on these creative things to let one loser mess it up for everyone. I'd watch the movie if they brought to America. And guess what? I do plan on reading his autobiography. I won't buy it, but I will read it.

Watched The Circle. It's a movie where we see a lot of different people who found themselves standing in a circle at some allien ship, every 2 or 3 minutes they need to decide which one of them dies, onoy one of them gets to live in the end. That's a very strange movie as all you get to see for an hour and a half is people talking and arguing, some of them are dying from time to time. I guess it's curious to see the human psychology here, the way people think when they want to survive, the way they show the nastiest qualities they have. I don't know if I really liked the movie or not, it was okay, interesting at times, sometimes boring, but alright to watch once.

This post isn't about a movie but the actor Steven Bauer (Scarface, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and a million others)

I watch BBC news and PBS news on my local PBS station. There is a small budget show that airs right before the BBC news called Que Pasa, USA and I've never sat down and watched it but I have it on quite often while I'm waiting for the news to come on. Anyway, there is a young actor on there that I thought looked like a young Steven Bauer. I kept seeing this show and thinking how much this person looked like Steven Bauer. Finally, I looked up the show on the internet and discovered it was made in 1977 and it is Steven Bauer. :) This was a PBS produced show that ran for 3 or 4 years and of course was a few years before Scarface. I was surprised.

Boulevard starring Robin Williams in his final screen performance and he is excellent here! 'Boulevard follows married but closeted 60 year old bank employee Nolan (Williams) whose spontaneous turn down an unknown street upends his monotonous life and crumbling marriage.' The always outstanding Kathy Baker plays his wife. This is a quiet film with interesting characters. Robin played this role quite well and embodied the underlying desperation that his character has after his encounter with a male hustler and facing his own mortality and what his life has meant to himself and others.

Awww, this sounds good, but sad.

I taped It Chapter Two. I plan on watching it over the weekend. My cable company provided us with all premium channels for free last weekend because of the coronavirus. Also tape The Dark Tower. Is It Chapter Two any good?
It Chapter Two is indeed a good one, maybe not quite as good as Chapter One but it has plenty to enjoy, Skarsgard once again knocks it out of the park as Pennywise, the scene under the bleachers is particularly creepy. You might want to give Dark Tower a miss, it has a great cast but overall it's a mess.

Thanks. I still have 1922 to watch also on Netflix. Way to many Stephen King based movies out there. ;):)

I prefer Chapter Two, but I already loved the first one too. I wrote my review in the according thread.

Do people actually still TAPE things?
