Any LEGO builders out there? I loved LEGO as a kid but rarely got to build because sets were so expensive, so I'd have to make do with a friend's or play with the set at the library.

Now as an adult I occasionally build, it's very relaxing to me and more interesting than doing a jigsaw puzzle. I've tried getting my daughters interested in them but they aren't very interested, although they do like seeing the end product when I'm done.

I just finished building this Ferrari F40 and thought I'd share and see if anyone here does LEGO!

I have been tempted many times to get into this hobby as an adult though. Do you buy kits or just "wing it?"

Edit: forgot to say... that's great work!!!

Thanks! I remember those basic kits, those are fun because you can come up with whatever you want. But now I'm definitely more into doing specific model kits. That Ferrari has over 1,100 pieces! I try not to rush through them, I just put on some tunes and relax, and work on them off and on over a period of days or even weeks if I get sidetracked. Just have to make sure the cat doesn't knock any pieces to the floor!

Both of my sons are huge LEGO fans. They're pretty much all LilMan (10) asks for on Christmas and birthdays, despite having a huge collection of his own and those handed down by his 22 YO brother. He builds the sets from the plans, then takes them apart a few days later and constructs new things out of his imagination. Our local LEGO shop has an Adult builder's club that's bigger than the kids' club--lol.

That is an awesome car! Have you tried the LEGO Architecture sets? They're intended for adults, and are very challenging--my older boy likes these now.

Hey fushingfeef !

Very cool and awesome. :blues:

My son loved Lego and worked with the things carrie's younger brother posted. John would spend hours HOURS designing and building. He would check it out for a couple of days (I think he was contemplating what he liked about his effort and where he might improve upon it.) and then take it apart and start another project. :icon_eek:

(Helpful hint:If you cannot afford a home security system, take a couple handfuls of Lego and strew them about the floor/stairs. Burglars will hurt themselves trying to get OUT of the house. ) (<<<this will also convince Father to get a vasectomy-no more kids who leave Lego all over and Mommy will turn the air blue with naughty words after stepping on three Lego in a row. :))

Have a great day!

Nice job, feef!=D

My daughter loves LEGOs and after playing around with some Scooby Doo and "girl friendly" sets when she was younger has now focused on Star Wars sets. One of her big Christmas gifts this year was the Millenium Falcon. Over 1,100 pieces. She and hubby just finished it during the snow we had. I'll post a pic of her gallery when I get home from work tonight.:cool2:

So true! I would sooner walk across burning coals than a bunch of LEGOs!
