Hola!

May all be well or on the mend.

Mortifies Nation. I ran across this documentary and I enjoyed it very much. (I must confess, I squirmed a few times.)

IMDB describes it:

Adults share their most embarrassing teenage writings and art in front of total strangers at Mortified stage shows across the country, as the filmmakers explore what the show's popularity says about all of us.

Average, ordinary people go up on stage in front of @ 200 strangers and read entries from their diary/journals written when they were in their tweens and teens.

This is the trailer for the documentary.
(Caution! Some salty language.)

I really admire these people sharing their most private/honest thoughts. I sure couldn't do it!

Did you keep a diary/journal when you were in your teens? Would you share some of your entries?

You can find it on Netflix and there's a link in the trailer.

Hope you enjoy.

Peace.

I dunno... I cringe when I read my own poetry and writing from when I was young... Why would I subject anyone else to it? :biggrin2: And hearing their writing would only remind me of my own awkward, embarrassing moments that I'm still trying to forget!
They do this thing where at the end, there's always a comment. It changes but it always ends the same.

Last night it was "No matter how lonely and scared and crazy we felt, we can celebrate that we survived."

I don't know. It was touching and inspiring and awesome. I went to the event because I saw the movie but it was so much more emotional in person. I can't really explain it but I truly do feel like teen years are a war and we were a group of survivors. It was amazing that we could all come together and laugh about it.

I feel emotional about it even now. It was a really cool thing.

I kept a diary for a few years. Well, actually it spans from when I was 15 till about 23. Sometimes I read it all. If anything, it makes me incredibly thankful for the life I live today. I keep meaning to add to it now. I don't think the "me" from "then" would recognise the me, now. As always, an interesting thread Siggy.
