A rite of passage for most girls, I know, but it makes me a little sad, because it means my baby girl is growing up! My 8-year old Jillian got her ears pierced last night. She finally got up the nerve to do it and we figured she is old enough to take care of them herself (with a little help, of course). I captured it on video if you want to share in this important moment in a young lady's life!

Wow - I love her choice of earrings! They are just like mine (a pear shaped diamond). It's good she did not cry :(. I had mine done at the doctor's (can you believe that?) when I was 16 years old back in the dark ages  They put in ugly Frankenstein studs. I had to keep cleaning them with alcohol for several days before I could take them out and put real earrings in. By the way your little blonde girl is quite cute too. I like the way she changed the subject when you asked her if she wanted her ears pierced :biggrin2:

What pretty earrings! I gotmy ears pierced at 15 as a bribe because we moved and I was really unhappy at a new school. All I got was gold studs. Acouple of years later I got a second set of holes put in and at the time that was very daring. I hope your not so little girl enjoys.

umm I was like 36 when I finally had mine done and only because I couldn't get decent hoop earrings that weren't pierced.

I think that's sweet that she got the chance to choose. It really bothers me to see little babies with their ears pierced. They don't get a choice and I think little girls should have that choice. It's a part of growing up . . .

So sweet!! My mum wouldn't let me get mine done until I was 16... I begged and begged but no. Went and got them done when I was 16, you know what, I wore them for about 6 weeks, took them out and never wore earings again!!
I also begged and begged at 14. Nope. She wouldn't do it. My brother pierced my ears for me.
