What I've been learning among other things is to try not to assume what diagnosis someone I know has. It's very tempting to presume something seriously wrong in someone who's offended, rejected, or otherwise hurt us deeply. Maybe that person has his/her legitimate reasons for hating us.
Yes, I agree. I think narcissistic behavior is more of a pattern one notices over a long period of time.
