There closing all the stores in Australia as well. Kmart and Big W are so cheap that most stores can't compete.
I think that today is the last day to purchase the land of mistfit toys.
...I guess they're all grown up, there will be no more Toys R Us kids.....
I don't remember a Toys 'R' Us store, growing up in Central Illinois. The department stores had toy departments which expanded hugely as Christmas season came around. People got their toys.

I just read that the image of Geoffrey the Giraffe of Toy R Us kidz is generating a lot of sadness. He is waiving goodbye in an empty aisle of Toys R Us. I remember when Kay Be Toys went out, it was also a sad day.
Made sure my kids used their gift cards months ago ...just in case.
I heard last night on the news that anonmyous person purchased a million dollars worth of toys at Toys R Us in Indiana. We are hopeful that he will be gifting this to the needy children during Christmas.
Just curious, for those of you buying toys this year, who has gotten your dollars?

It's been years since I've seen the catalog. Do they carry toys now?
...not in the classic sense, no.......
I getcha. It's all radio-controlled stuff now, isn't it?
....well, some do still require batteries......
