What scared me worse was that a couple weeks before that happened I'd given her flea treatment, then noticed she was shaking. I'd given her flea treatment for a dog by mistake. It was early morning and the animal hospital a mile from me was closed, but I got lucky and the other vet was open. I was very upset and came apart at the seams while checking her in. I haven't been that emotional in decades, maybe ever. I was begging God for her to be okay. Later I apologized to the vet for not being able to contain myself, and he said it's nice to see someone who obviously cares that much.
They bathed her a couple of times, ran blood work, and told me she was going to be okay, which she was until she had that thread.
