I am having a craving for some nice coleslaw - the kind with the creamy mayonnaise dressing, not the vinegar dressing!

Cute - why would you just wear 1 contact? I totally trust your judgment, but I'm very curious.I am learning to use a contact in one eye. It's called monovision. This is how I feel I see the world.
That way I don't have to wear glasses all the time. One eye sees up close and one eye is for distance. Since my eyes are good for distance, I don't have to wear a contact for distance.Cute - why would you just wear 1 contact? I totally trust your judgment, but I'm very curious.
aha - well then, that makes good sense.. My son has retinal dystrophy - it's genetic and his distance vision is horrid - can't be corrected to any better than 20/80. I worry that he won't be able to get a driver's license. I try to prepare him for that in little ways. It'll be a blow to him here in a few years if he can't.That way I don't have to wear glasses all the time. One eye sees up close and one eye is for distance. Why is that? Do you only have impaired vision in one eye and the other is fine?I am learning to use a contact in one eye. It's called monovision. This is how I feel I see the world.
I have a son whose vision is good up close, but he needs glasses for far away. And he doesn't drive. He doesn't have a driver's license. He's 24 and bikes, walks or rides the bus. He's my little tree hugger and doesn't want to leave his own carbon footprint or have the expense of car maintenance. (although he is more than happy to ride with others who do leave a footprint--lol) He took driver's ed and passed. But chose not to get a driver's license.aha - well then, that makes good sense.. No, I need glasses for up close with both eyes. But, when I get contacts for both eyes, it messes up my distance vision too much. So, this is the best of both worlds. Why is that? Do you only have impaired vision in one eye and the other is fine?
That makes my heart so happy! I try to steer him in that direction. I have friends like your son. They live downtown and take the trolley everywhere or they bike. If they must come out to the 'burbs, they'll rent a Prius. I would love to not have the cost of car, even my paid off car. Gas, insurance, maintenance, tags, I'd have a few thousand more in my pocket annually if not for my wheels. I tell my boy he needs to live somewhere with good mass transit and get a vespa.I have a son whose vision is good up close, but he needs distance for far away. And he doesn't drive. I should try that! (Is it difficult to learn how to use just one eye for reading?)No, I need glasses for up close with both eyes. But, when I get contacts for both eyes, it messes up my distance vision too much. So, this is the best of both worlds.
No, I do notice more of an issue if I'm tired though. I can read my books, but it's different. I don't get headaches or anything, but I'm still in the learning phase of training my brain, so it has moments that are better than others. I like that I can actually see and read labels at the grocery store, I can read a book if I want and I'm not searching for my glasses which always have fingerprints all over them no matter how many times I clean them.I should try that! Hey Craig! And have a good Thursday yourself.I thought I would stop in and say hi... it has been awhile. I finished The Shining, finally; I was going to read Dr. Sleep, not sure I could finish it in four weeks though, I may just wait for Mr. Mercedes.... I don't know, thoughts. Have a great Thursday.
