Those three miles? I've heard that people in the mountainous west are in better shape because of the elevation while walking. It's like putting the treadmill on incline. Which reminds me, I have to pull out mine from under the bed. Blow off the dust, lol.
Three this morning, then who knows how far this evening--that walk is just by time (50 mins tonight) because I have the son and the dogs. I think I need new shoes if I mean to keep this up, and I do :)

I have never heard of asking people to bring food to a wedding reception, either. But maybe they wanted to have more of a casual, comfortable type setting?

Trying to be positive. :D

I got married at the courthouse and then we ate at Pizza Hut. Never had a reception or even a cake! So what do I know? We could have had a heck of a shindig if I had thought of this! ;) ;-D

not_nadine I'm glad you still have a devotion to Mary. She is most comforting. She helped dragged my wretched arse out of the depths.

skimom2 All that walking. Epsom salts in a lavender bubble bath with a beer and a benedryl. Fix you right up.
Beer and a Benedryl? I've done the Epsom salts in a bath trick - it's great to help you relax - all that lovely warm water. I've just never heard of drinking a beer at the same time as taking Benedryl- makes me wonder if that gives one hallucinations or some such thing.

They're having a traditional church wedding at 4:00 in the afternoon, and have rented a separate venue for the reception. It is a very good friend, but she has a good job and makes more a year than I do. Her mother also happens to have a couple of million from the sale of some property a few years ago......It's a printed invitation and RSVP card, so everyone is getting the same thing. Something about it really bothers me.

Tell 'em you are bringing KFC. A half a bucket cause you ate the other half of it on the way, 'scuse my dress grease stains.

I was pruddy when I started out.
Okay - I missed this one - maybe N_N's idea is better, actually.

My older sister actually had KFC at her wedding reception back in the 70s (not kidding).
:nope: It may have been Dad's idea - he was 'very thrifty' :broke:

But she did NOT ask the guests to pitch in and bring a side dish, at least!

Given the financial circumstances you've mentioned of the groom's family, that's really tacky.

I'll bet you bought your own meal at pizza hut, too!!!! :biggrin-new:

I still don't think it's appropriate to ask invited guests to bring food.

I'll make you a cake, CAT!!.......when's your anniversary?

Aww! Thanks! It's in February. The 15th.
:)

One of my coworkers made us a cheesecake, so I guess we did have a cake. Not that day, though.

I sometimes think it would have been nice to have had the dress and the whole "big deal" wedding. But we're happy and still going, so really, I wouldn't change a thing. :love_heart:
