I was reading that article about a week ago when that bunch of people got invited to Maine to be shown around by a lady name Robin some of the different landmarks around that inspired some of King's stories. In the interview King said he's got hearing problems because of playing the guitar. What I couldn't understand there's a picture of King standing with his dog, and there's a sign saying something like 'Vote 1 for Pennywise' but the sign looks like it's floating in the air as I can't seem to see any stake holding it up. I want to know if that's a photoshop addition.

Yes, that was my real pic that I had in my profile yesterday. I just changed it a few minutes ago because I don't look as good as I used to back when I dated pro hockey players and engineers. I also read that thread in hot topics that said if you post at SKMB then Google knows you.

if you look at the leaf right below the sign, you can see the metal legs against the color of the leaf.

48 years ago today Woodstock.
I went, but never made it because of this...

My friend's older brother turned the car around when we hit the bad traffic and dropped me and my friend (we were 12 years old) off at my parent's house. Then the older two went back, parked, and hiked for many miles to get there. I got such a beating from my Irish mother for going against her wishes, and heard about it until her final day whenever the topic of Woodstock came up.

I work in an office that happens to be located in a mall. I was sitting outside the office on my lunch break and I got panhandled. That's never happened before.

I have kind of a funny story about being approached for money.

I pulled into a restaurant parking lot and got out of my car and started walking towards the entrance. A man was standing by a pay phone close to the entrance (yes, this was a few years ago when there were these strange devices called pay phones) and he walked up to me and said, "brother, can you spare a dime?" I thought he needed change for the phone and I reached into my pocket and pulled out a dime and gave it to him. He looked at it and said, "I guess that's a start." I walked into the restaurant and started thinking that what he said to me was strange and then I realized he wasn't really asking for a dime. ;-D

I remember one instance the other year. I was waiting for the doors to open for a hockey game and went down the street to a convenience store to get a coffee. A panhandler approached me looking for money. I asked him what he would do with it. He said he has a job but it was not enough to pay for beer or sometimes food, and he would use it to buy a beer. I said he looked like he could use food more than a beer. He agreed, but said he wouldn’t lie and would use it to buy a beer. So I went into the convenience store and got him a sandwich. I told him if he eats the sandwich I’ll give him $2 for his beer. He ate the sandwich while I was there and I gave him the $2.

These panhandler stories reminded me of one. When I was in college, we went on a trip to New York to visit ad agencies. Once, getting on the subway, there was a homeless person with a paper cup, saying, "Money? Money to buy a little dope? Money to buy my pot?" We thought it was great and all gave him something. Hope he bought a nice big bag!;-D

Panhandling --

i would love to stand on a street corner with a sign:

Need a buck?

And see how many people in cars would roll their windows down to RECEIVE money.

It would be a great college paper experiment type thing.

Stand out there one day asking for money. The next day, stand out there and give away money.
Keep track of the money,
keep track of ages of people most likely to give or GET money.
Genders most likely to give or get?

Log in nasty comments thrown at you for asking for money.
Log in nice comments for giving away money.

What other things could I keep track of?

This reminds me of a commercial showing kindness to those asking for money.
