She looks average now. She took what made her unique and cute and erased it. Sometimes people just don't see themselves as others see them. It's called

bod·y dys·mor·phic dis·or·der
noun
  1. a psychological disorder in which a person becomes obsessed with imaginary defects in their appearance.

I guess that from now on we ll have a new colloquial expression, something like "he went and pulled a zellweger on her". Or sth like that. And if there isn't such a term, I am coining it now :D. "What the #$@#1? His face look like somebody pulled a zellweger on him".
or "Please be quiet or I'm gonna pull a zellweger on you".

I also want everyone that is sure she did something drastic...and called her ugly. To look at these before and after make up pictures.

Before-And-After Makeup Photos Make Women Unrecognizable (PHOTOS)

We keep saying girls have unreasonable expectations of themselves because of models and Hollywood. But it appears there is no shortage of unreasonable expectations OF models and Hollywood. Personally, I prefer her new look.

Her last movie was 5 years ago. Maybe she's aged?

No wonder people in Hollywood feel the need to get plastic surgery to stay young. Read the comments just within this thread. Calling her ugly? Really?

Personally, I think she looks better now. I never liked the puffy-eyes look.
Maybe she's aged? Well, everyone does. She looks a lot older to me in the after pictures, so if she was trying to stay young, she fell short of the mark.

She got to where she is in part, because of her face. She looks nothing like herself now. She is unrecognizable. Unrecognizable in an industry where name and face recognition is important. Good career move? I doubt it, but time will tell.

I would much rather watch an actress on screen who is aging gracefully, rather than doing something like this. Those are the people who deserve recognition and accolades.

Something like what?

People are assuming she had surgery. But it seems to me in five years she has aged, and lost a bit of weight. And maybe stopped using make up to look like what someone else wants her to look like.

I say, Power to her! Be yourself. And I think her acting ability got her where she is.

She looks like a completely different woman. She is well known for gaining and losing a lot of weight for roles, and it didn't change her face, other than the roundness of it. You still recognized her, thin or chubby. I can't think of any movie where she didn't look pretty fresh faced, minimal makeup. This isn't simply more or less makeup. I believe she did have plastic surgery.

And I agree with you about if she is happy, then great. That's what matters, ultimately. But, I disagree that she is being herself.

Agree to disagree? :)

I think she did have plastic surgery, her face is entirely changed. It could be because she wasn't happy with the way she looked but it's probably also, if not more that she loves acting and the pressure of maintaining her looks to keep getting roles is there. It's sad, but it's a fact that passed 30-35 at the most actresses see their work opportunities dry up unless they go down that route ( think Nicole Kidman)

And I also want to know who "everyone" is that has apparently called her ugly in this thread? The only remark slightly like that appeared to be from GNT, which I only took to be written in his usual goofy style. Other than that people have basically commented that they preferred her before, for whatever personal reason they have, but they have not called her ugly. You like her better now, that's your choice to voice that, the same way I am entitled to say I preferred her before when she was obviously more natural looking.

...indeed, and thank you sweetheart...but my goofiness masked the fact that I think she has done her beauty a disservice...if she's happy, more power to her-but to me, she still looks like she's trying to morph into Mickey Rourke...

Also, I'd just like to state I have absolutely nothing against plastic surgery, and I believe she has had surgery. I'm just dismayed she looks so drastically different that she is virtually unrecognisable, and preferred her natural look. Heck, I'm fortunate that I look younger than my age but when I do start to display signs of ageing I am 100% going to try botox...but whatever I may do in the future I still want to be able to look in the mirror and see "me" staring back, not some stranger. :smile2:
