I am sad sad about this. I've had a crush on him since Truly, Madly, Deeply. He's the only reason I ever watched Harry Potter movies. And he's the handsome rogue in Love, Actually.
I am so sad & shocked to read of his death. I never really knew who he was until the Harry Potter films. Then I loved him/hated his character in "Love Actually" (one of my favorite films).

I've loved him since Die Hard. Hateful character but lovely voice and just something there. My daughter loved him as Snape and recognized him immediately when she first watched Galaxy Quest. We will miss him in our abode. It's a long weekend. I feel an Alan Rickman marathon coming on!

He was very versatile but his villains were epic.
I thought he was great as the angel in Dogma. I heard Kevin Smith commenting on him being in his movie, Dogma and he said the cast was scared to death to have someone of his caliber in their movie. Kevin said he was very nice and understanding of all of their lack of acting ability and had a lot of fun on the set.

Loved him so much. I agree, it's been a horrible week. Both 69, and both with cancer. 
He was great in Die Hard and he was one of the best parts of The Harry Potter films in my eyes.

R.I.P. Alan Rickman. I've seen him only in a few movies, but he was great in Die Hard, and I remember him well from Galaxy Quest. I'm sad today.
Just saw the news on my MSN homepage. This is sad news. No matter what role he did, he was excellent in it! He was a powerhouse of talent.
This is insane. Just insane. That's the only word I have. Insane.
A fave performance for me. I wasn't a Die Hard fan, as it were, for years, then the movie was on a network "premiere" and I watched it. Now I watch it almost whenever I can. I can't get enough of John McClane (MacClane as Hans calls him) and Hans. It's just toooo good,
